My first... Titan!
« on: January 25, 2011, 06:11:34 pm »

Me just starting, I had a fortress going on three years!, It was my most sucsessful... I had bairly dug deep though, And haven't made it past the first cavern and then this shows up!

I have yet to get a forgotten beast or anything realtivly close to this

My milltary consistises of three poorly equiped solider with deacent stats

How do I deal with this?

Or am I bound to have a Fun Doom

Wall off the entrance. Make well-armoured dwarves equipped with shields and say, axes.
Alternatively, force it into a 1-z high passage and flood it with water or magma.
Or just wall off the entrance and let sieges/ambushes/caravans/migrants deal with it.

Well, the only thing you really have to fear from it is fire and biting attacks. Just send your militia after it and make sure they have metal shields.

Now is the time to do so.

Also, has anyone else thought 'what the heck is a 'Well Titan', a titan that lives in wells?' upon seeing this thread?

Also, shields pretty much counter fire completely. Unless something under you catches it.

We're missing thunder though.

You rang? No but seriously at least that explosion should prevent your dwarves from waiting to party for a bit. Cant imagine it'd be easy to drink after seeing the stuff cause your friend's skin to boil off.

You'd be surprised what these little bastards can handle with the right dining room.

Eh, the booze gambit was totally worth a try. You had more FUN than you would have had you just set up a peasant rush for certain.
