Hooray for a brand new, shiny and badly designed electric lighter for the gas cooker, a stubborn dad two heads shorter than me and the ensuing minor case of methane poisoning. Having to read and write one letter at a time is great fun...

A very bland reality where me, the Obsidian, and the mining facility I landed at, and the asteroid it's on seem to be the only bits of matter.

If everything's not dissolving into a fine quantum soup, then there's something holding matter together, even if just background radiation and low density plasma. An empty bubble of space expanding at LS in all directions would rip anything apart and into quarks. Besides, if the matter-antimatter balance was shifted once, it could be shifted again, without a Big Bang. (it seems it's built-in; 1% higher yield of matter than antimatter)
Also, a brand new reality would be ideal to explore for folk that want to cross into habitable ones.

I doubt we have airlifting capacities on-planet ('nids don't bother making things to get off planets. The Hive fleet just stripmines/eats the planet from space, along with any 'nids on the surface) so I guess wait for the Dragons.

A better idea would be to sneak it around the planet, keeping the planet between the Ark and the moon (and, presumably, Dragons) then move it so that the system star is blocking the Drakes LOS to the Ark, and move the Ark into the debris field at the system's outer edge, then go dead silent. Cut anything short of passive scans, minimum utilities needed to keep the inside habitable, and keep listening in on radio chatter.

You are now a rock floating among a shitload of other rocks. Safest way to get trough a space battle is pretend you're debris/rocks; just camouflage.

That would be great if the plan was to just try to survive.
