I really envy you, then.
I push a good amount of paper and write and draw on the high density stuff that normally cuts like a razor and I never get cut, not even when I deliberately hold the paper by the sharp end to nick myself. But then again, I managed to dull a scalpel once, and I'm slightly fireproofed.

Someone has reasons to kick you in the balls for a number of little things, but then, someone has just as much as a right to bust my bricks. Slavery was a fuckload of things jambled under a single term. Most Greek and Roman slaves got off quite well. They were often educated at their owner's expense. Investments in human resources on a binding contract if you'd like. Colonial slavery was shit for the poor bastards under it. (Look up Amistad; the ship) Modern slavery, well, let's just not go there. End of story.
