Or you could simply enforce a "Do not feed the trolls" policy and pretend anything showing up is a hallucination.
Also, antmen seem... rather appealing. I think the Tyrant got quite bored with eating just sludge.

I'll tend to poop out new critters on a purely situational basis, or use the creepy-crawlies around now with modifications, and always explain what they do. I won't resort to RP-breaking bullshit because it ruins all the fun for everyone, and that's just cheap trolling, hardly even worthy of the term.
