Sure it is. RP is by definition a type of game (it even has "play" in the name). We're all playing pretend, more or less.

@MM:
Ruined, no. Maybe bored a bit by long stretches of nothing happening. But meh, that's life. Things happen. At least it gave me the opportunity to get rid of a siege in DF that locked my fort off 3 weeks ago.
And a huge battle generally wipes away all traces of tedium.

The plot didn't ruin anything for me, just gave me time for other things during the quiet perioids. That and time zones plus school really are a bitch.
