Ooooh, boy... With Tenshi not being a living god for a while, the 'nid is (short of Iceball's magical macbook) the most powerful critter around. Folk do not enjoy that.

Yes. The hundred-strong "Endless swarms" with "Bodies over bullets" and "Without numbers", and the occasional  Titan/Superheavy-hunting Hierophant did. And Subterranean Swarms. And Mycetic Storms...

It was funny, 'cause my first Apocalypse macth was against an extremely shooty eldar player, in heavy cover. 'gaunts in Endless swarms get swarm cover bonuses (duh) and can assault into cover and move through it like fish though water. Guess what happened.

I find nids the hardest to fight with eldar, I'd rather fight crons as you can kill them.

Warhammer 40.000 stories. Fun game. The basic sidearm for some soldiers is a fully automatic .75 caliber armor piercing rocket propelled grenade launcher. It fires 19mm caliber grenades. That's as large as a 10-gauge shell. There are also weapons that shoot pure pain, weapons that fire bugs into you and eat you from the inside out, and weapons that flay you alive, ripping off one layer of molecules off your body at a time (though they're so strong you just get blown in half). And everyone is out to kill everyone else. Fun place, huh?

The tabletop game is where the real fun is, especially for 40k (and the books for 40k, and all the outright amazing artwork you can find). The fantasy version is meh and the computer game is outright poor. World of Warcrap is actually much better (and cheaper), especially now with Cataclysm making low-level quests and areas entertaining. Pre-cata lvl80s would go "aaaaw, carp; not this again" whenever they had to level up a new char. Now you're seeing 85s in 30-50 areas because it's fun to do the quests.

Edit: adwarf, you're being silly. Most people are throwing around high-level magic, energy weapons, or hordes of alien locusts. You're "defending" the place with walls, bows and spears. Though the CSE dudes might start visiting your fortifications for touristic reasons....
