Next up in the continued adventures of Maj Megaman: Attacking a ring of turrets.
Megaman gets a stealth fighter. Char13mange gets his customary fast stealth bomber. Metal Militia gets a stealth gunship. Deadmeat debuts in a scout, as requested.
Command has been kind and sent along another squad in support of us. How thoughtful of them. Well, lets get to finding those turrets. Orders: spread out so we dont all get wiped out at once.
Deadmeat is first to see the enemy. Thankfully, they are light turrets, but there is at least one squadron holding station near them.
All hell breaks loose as we make a pass at the turrets, dodging both returned fire and ramming the enemy. Our "support" is stuck in a distant cluster of asteroids. They must be new. Megaman and Char13mange land multiple turret hits, with the heavy payload of the bomber helping him land one kill already. Then this happens:
Megaman carries far too much speed though the first pass, and finds himself in the centre of the turret ring. Note the huge number of missiles homing in on him...
Somewhat foolishly, he tries to shake them but survives with heavy damage. This possibly worked to our advantage - the rest of you land multiple hits on the turret and score multiple kills. Well, lets make a second pass now thats all over.

Our second pass is uneventful. We destroy the last two turrets. But then the enemy squadrons can stop worrying about hitting thier turrets. Deadmeat gets hit by a long range shot and instantly dies. We regroup as all kinds of chaos ensues as our support squadron and the enemy anhilliate each other. By the time we have turned, there isnt much left of either squadron. The next 5 mins are taken up with tense yet dull circling for firing position made all the harder as we now have no scout to spot targets. Metal Militia ends up with most of the enemy behind him so ejects, while Megamanlines up a shot on an enemy heavy gunship. This lands, but he takes a huge hit from the bomber coming in the other direction. His ship is still functional though, so no running away just yet.
So, at this point we have one damaged support ship, One badly damaged Megaman, no scout, and a damaged bomber not much use in a dogfight against probably 3 enemy ships of unknown type shooting at us from out of sensor contact...
So what to do? Well, run around randomly shooting at anything that might be the enemy of course! Char13mange takes a hit meaning he can only go in straight lines waway from the sector, ruling him out of the engagement. This is now a test of wills - who will run first? Megaman or the enemy? Well, it sure as hell isnt going to be Megaman. The enemy bug out and we win.
So, lets recap that shambles.
Megaman gets another MoH and a kill of a scout (when? No-one saw that happen did they? I didnt!) Char13mange used his bomber to good effect and voiped 2 turrets, winning a MoH. Metal Militia bagged a turret but had to eject. Deadmead is Deadmeat.
