Ron Paul and Ralph Nader... Working Together
« on: January 23, 2011, 07:39:29 am »

Yep. Video with the interview here.

So, who of you would vote for them? Progressive-Libertarian sounds good in my book, depending on what they do. I do like the sound of their anti-corporatism though.

Really 'left' and 'right' are two foolish generalizations of the political spectrum. At the lest it is set up something like this:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Ron Paul sits at the top right, and whats-his-face sits at the top left, they probably agree on many issues, and so it makes sense that they would work together.

That's a foolish generalization of the political spectrum too!

What does it mean when the crazy people are more sane than everyone else?
That everyone else is crazy, of course.

Or are you the one that is actually crazy? Is everyone else sane, but you fail to realize it?

IIRC the only 'libertarians' in congress are just socially liberal Republicans.

None, technically.  There is a Libertarian Party, which holds no seats because they never get more than 5% of the vote anywhere they run.  If you mean, how many sitting Congressmen identify themselves as "libertarian", like all labels that's mutable and really depends on your definition, not theirs.

I love the idea of a "coalition" composed of Ron Paul and Bernie Sanders, the two most famous sitting legislators nobody gives a shit about.  The two of them are the entire coalition, right there.

Yeah, I'm just wondering how much extra impact this "coalition" is going to have if it isn't going to change anything at all.  Except possibly piss off all the supporters of these two people.
