« on: January 23, 2011, 02:19:37 am »

is there a "noob question" thread stickied somewhere I missed?
i really need one and i've looked, i swear i have.

if such a thing exists, could someone link me to it?
the wiki is almost no help with certain things.

thanks already.

There really isn't any such thing. There's the How to Farm in 31.x thread, which has step-by-step instructions on how to make a basic farm. That's always good for new players to learn quickly. There's also the Little Questions thread, which unfortunately isn't really a good place for a new player since it is A) huge, with over 500 pages at the moment, and B) newbies typically don't know what questions are "little" and what someone could write a 5-page paper on.

You might find it useful to use the search function to look for other newb questions, new player questions, noob questions, first posts, and the like. It's at least somewhat likely that any questions you've had have been had by someone else, and they've likely gotten an answer. But, for the most part, newbies just ask their specific questions and have them answered. What, in particular, a new player finds difficult varies from person to person.

What?  Really?  I found the wiki to be very good.  Some people poured their time and effort into it and it shows.

If you're brand new, following one of the 2010 let's play series on Youtube is a great idea.  It's how I got introduced to the game and once I actually sat down to play, it was a piece of cake.  The quickstart guide on the wiki is also very detailed.
