Watching the star wars movies
« on: January 22, 2011, 05:55:44 am »

A friend of mine has never watched the star wars movies (any of them), and I am planning to rectify this. However, the question arises of which trilogy to watch first. Any advice from the denizens of bay12?

Huh? There's more than one trilogy?

Yeah, it always confused me that there's a 4, 5, and a 6, but no 1, 2, or a 3.

Watch 456, then 123.

Trust me, it's better that way.

Definitely show them 4, 5, and 6 first. If they want to watch more star wars after that, point them at the new trilogy with a disclaimer.

4, 5, 6, if they really don't know much about Star Wars.

If they already know about the plot twists, start with with 1, 2, 3.

I think I watched them a year ago, with a bunch of people from a Star Wars forum.
That was fun, commenting on everything that happened.

My honest advice is to watch 456 first, then go for 123, then top it up with RedLetterMedia's reviews of the latter.

Watch the one with the time travelling space whales first.

It's been said, but 456 then 123
Then watch the Family Guy ones.

Start with 4, 5, and 6, and then end it there, never even mentioning the other three. They do not exist.

Watch IV-VI. Then, if you really want to see more Star Wars, watch The Phantom Edit, and Attack of the Phantom. There is no redit of Episode III. Yet.

Do something that's never been done before: watch them backwards, 6,5,4,3,2, and 1.
