I feel... Dirty. They took something I love and applied it to something I find politicaly incorrect and don't see the sex appeal in. And rest assured, I fully see the sex appeal in steampunk.

Okay, I can understand most fetishes, in a roundabout sort of way, but one that involves gigantic ballsack crushing pistons and inadequate OSHA standards is not one of them.

Aww, but corsets are dead sexy. Steampunk is the only place you can get away with victorian clothing.

How about you ditch the incredibly dangerous machinery and just go Victorian?

Almost as much as the proliferation of "epic", it irks me that you can't so much as have an historic steam train in a setting without people calling it "Steampunk" and expecting giant robospiders and busty gunslingers and lightning-zeppelins.

No they don't. Not that I'm against crossdressing, but a transvestite is a transvestite and peoples views on them are not going to be colored by giant metal nutsack wranglers.
