I didn't pay attention to the parts of the story the showed. I was too distracted by Palin's comically large breasts.

But because of them, I'm sure Russia can see Palin from her front porch.

I was not aware this was said about Steampunk fans. It totally clicks though, all the Steampunk fanatics I know are one step removed from Goth.
