I'd like to bump this topic up, in case people happen to have something new to contribute.

Does anybody know what INTELLECTUAL_CURIOSITY  does?

Surely it must do something...
It means that the person may "like to try new things" or perform common routines. It's probably another descriptional trait, I doubt it affects the job assignment script. Maybe it affects profession change during worldgen, but we cannot know without asking Toady first. I wouldn't be surprised, judging by complexity of his formulas

Just remember the former attack formula; would anyone of you make something like that for their own game? I would probably invent something simple or with less parameters :D.

Yeah, but it's quite short in comparison to Toady's formula.

It was back in 40d when we had arbitrary damblocks, and the formula I wrote is only a part (without armor, skills etc.).

Imagine how complex it is NOW, with all those dozen parameters for materials, armors and TWO skills instead of one (fighter/weapon).

I'd actually enjoy knowing precisely what these personality parameters do...

I want to make a supernatural (albeit OVER-powered) race, and some of these tags and data-values are completely out of left field for me.

For instance, No-females for this race, so I need them to be able to spontaneously manifest themselves? more like craft them within a workshop, but I can't seem to find a way to do this, and then I need them to be radically aggressive with a knack for warfare...

The only way for creatures to live through a worldgen is to either be immortal or have females. They cannot reproduce otherwise.

Do you think that maybe sympathy might affect reactions to deaths of friends and/or pets?

Possible. It might have an effect on lots of things, but non-combat effects are kind of hard to test.

Another thought: Toady mentioned during Talk #11 that personalities affect whether or not a dwarf goes to parties. We've known for a while that personality affects whether or not a dwarf hangs about in their room (as opposed to the meeting hall) during breaks, so it's good to have it confirmed that that sort of stuff has a concrete effect on behaviour.
