Dead, since the world will end.

"The world will end" does not imply "everything on it one year prior will die".  I think Norse mythology works that way, or something like that.  The Mayapocalypse may be similar.  I'm no mythology expert, so add salt to taste.

Also, we have approximately TWO years, since the Mayapocalypse occurs in late December.

Okay, so, today this girl I know-Lauren, just took a sudden dis-interest in talking to me. Is she just on her period or something?

Go peddle your ideas somewhere else. They don't make since and it's ridiculous they way you you said other people are "suckers" for believing otherwise.

Sure, you get money from someone and you pay them a lot more back if something happens. Like betting on horses. It's just as valid as life insurance if you think about it.

Context - it's not just an archaeological concept, it also applies to day to day conversation!

One year closer to college.
Taller. Fatter, probably. My diet may catch up to me.
I'll probably have/be looking for a job.
I'll have my car working.

Pardon, but I just realized we never brought this thread back for the anniversary. Though Jan. 2012 has come and gone, I thought I'd bump/ressucitate it anyway.

I was actually pretty accurate, though a bit more hopeful about jobs than I should have been.

I'll likely be doing the exact same stuff.  There's two possibilities:

1. I pass my qualifying exam this time - I stay in grad school and work part time at the same job I have for the past 3 years.  No complaints, but dang it I'm ready to be done with graduate school.

2. I fail the exam - I get booted from grad school, mope around for a while, then either move to full time here or at the DoE lab where I'll be working this summer.

Probably #1.

I'll also be turning 20 in a year and four days. Is there anything you get to do upon turning 20?
