Battle-Philosopher vs Warrior-poet?
We can argue the inherent divide between pragmatism and romanticism whilst trading blows.

EPIC!

I go to the local tavern and entertain people with my knowledge of lore.
Spare a few coins for a hungy poet?

[5] You enter the market district and into the nearest tavern and start reciting tales of excitement, blood and valour. [4] You get given 25 coins but a burly man heckles you. [1] The crowd, excited, encircles the two of you, shouting and screaming for blood. [1] The man is unarmed and raises his fists.

Make a dramatic entrance, complete with cloak flourishes and whatnot

Who is viking, and who is saxon?

Did no one catch my reference? It was the perfect opportunity to use it, I couldn't resist.

[3] You go to the military district and try to get into the practice ring, you get stuck in a queue. [4] But one of your fellow queue-ers knows of your mission and gets you to the front of the line.

Posting time: It's 1:25am here. Hopefully I can post the status and turn 2 tomorrow morning providing everyone post their turns.

G'night

We need 12 players in all, I think.

12 players and Antonio Banderas

Practice my Axefighting
[5] You reach the circle, a challenger awaits.[2] It is but a elder boy armed with a soft iron saex.
[6] You strike for his head [5-1] The flat of your axe grazes his brow.[1] The boy ignores the blow and [5][1-1] slashes at your torso, bending his blade. He is now defenceless. [1] The boy is dragged away at the arm by an angry parent. The rest of the warriors scoff at your 'victory' over the doomed child.
Make a dramatic entrance, complete with cloak flourishes and whatnot

 :o
[6] You appear in a blinding flash in between Dwarmin and his heckler[4] People clap, but politicly ask you to move...if it is convenient.
*appear*
[2] You fall out the sky! [5] and land comfortably on the thatch roof of the tavern.
First turn death go!

"If it's a fight you want, I shall not disappoint. I have more potent weapons than merely words!"

Action
I stow my axe and shield and engage in fisticuffs.
[4] Through your blinking eyes throw your fist into the bastards stomach[4-1] winding him slightly[6] He tries to recover and to deliver a hamer blow to your head [2-2] he over balances and lands heavily on his knees[3] he fails to stand...leaving him open for attack.
Did something catch my eye? Because if not, I'm going to train a bit I assume.
[5] You get to the training ring and you are pushed into combat with Taricus.
"See if you can take that runt on, all 'es good for is children. HA!"
[1] Nervous about fighting someone you are going to travel with for a while, you fall into guard. Taricus has no such qualms and [4] saws his axe up between your legs. [4-2] You jump back easily.
D'oh enter through this stupid door and try to find someone there to fix up my nose
[6-1] you open the door and are immediately accosted by a priestess who lovingly fawns over your injury.
[6]She blocks it up with a politice that sets in you nostrils, you can no longer smell or breathe through it.
