Primitive Civilizations 2

Primitive Civilizations v2.0
Compatible with Dwarf Fortress version 0.31.18+

About the Mod
  Primitive Civilizations is a basic addition mod to Dwarf Fortress. It adds in a bunch of new 'primitive' races to the game to add some more variety to the world. The function much like the basic races (human, elf, kobold, etc.) but they are very limited in thier use of metals and equipment. This makes them a little weaker during world gen, but they seem to manage to survive pretty well despite this limitation.

  These files have been split off from my Civilization Forge mod, so this mod is NOT compatible with that mod. (You'll get duplication errors)

Installation
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Simply copy these files into your Dwarf Fortress raw/objects folder. You will need to overwrite some of the existing files for this mod to work.

Please note that while any of the race creature/entity file combinations can be ommited, ommitting any of the _primitive files may cause problems. The item files in particular will cause errors if left out since all of the new races use some aspect of those files.

NOTE: You will need to generate a new world for this mod to take effect.

I was expecting cavemen and such, but I am pleasantly surprised at your creativity  :D . I will have to try this out in my next fortress. Do these civilizations siege/trade/ambush?

Most of them will trade. A few, like Raccoonmen and Ratmen, will steal from you. None of them are necessarily hostile like goblins, but you could always end up with some at war with you.

This should get you through fortress mode. Only graphic missing there is thieves.
Save image to your graphics folder, then save text as "graphics_primitive.txt" in something like notepad to the graphics folder.
Sources include Beefmo, Taritus, Sphr and Bane. Possibly some other folks too, but those are the ones I know of.
Edit: Oh, Mike Mayday did the lizard and snake men graphics I used as a spring board. Didn't know that 'till just now.

Thanks for the mod I was looking for something like that. :)

Is the embark screen limited to 6 civilizations? Cause it only shows goatman and forestkin. The other civs all survived worldgen.

@Mayama: No, you can have tons on the embark screen. The others probably just aren't able to access that location.

Thanks! Feel free to put it in the main download, if you want. I've started work on fleshing out the civs for adventure mode. Also, if you don't make bearmen apiarists, I'll be very disappointed with you. Very.  ;D Otherwise, Nice mod.

Yeah, Bearmen need honey. That's pretty much a given.

And, of course, pottery should be common amongst most of them.

Not sure how soon I'll get the new stuff in, probably next week.

Hmmm I generated some maps and usually only goatman and satyr survive. Goatman dominate the historical figures screen. Maybee the other civs need a bit more survivability. :) What about adding special beats to some of them like the goblins have trolls. Just a suggestion.

of course thats what happens when you take a break from DF to play StarCraft for 6months :P
Also those pcis are AWESOME The Satyrs look sooooooo cute! Where can I download that graphics mod to add it to the Mayday mod?
