I modded in cats with toxic blood. I accidentally made a danger room. all my dwarves have their skin and most of their fat off. None dead.

I feel like a monster right now.

Drone castes need to be male because female drones don't look after their kids. Probably it can be gotten round by skipping the baby part of the life cycle so that newborns can look after themselves (or by making babyhood so short that babies don't have time to starve before becoming mobile children, but having females as normal dwarves and males as breeders is... ehh, fine as a proof of concept, but doesn't use the idea of non-intelligent castes to its fullest. Unless your specific idea was literal man-eating.
