Unfreeze a river?

So, I'm building my new dining room in a waterfall. I want the waterfall to keep going all year, but the river freezes. If - is a floor, ~ magma, and = the frozen river, will

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

I believe so; I'm pretty sure I've seen that very mechanic used to make automatic freezing traps. I haven't used it myself, though, so I can't guarantee it.

Magma only unfreeze above frozen water if there's a magma flow. You need a constant magma flow to keep the river unfrozen.

Indeed, you require a flow. I'm not sure if 7-6 tiles splashing around would be enough to melt it, or if you'd need a pumped circuit.

They will but depending on the size and shape of the area you will have periodic freezing occur. This is a nice trick for turning a small pond into an infinite water source, but it can be unpredictable at times since the movement of that unit of magma is random.
