[TMA] DF2010 Farming Advanced
« on: January 18, 2011, 07:43:39 am »

So I'm horribly addicted to this awesome game and my OCD has kicked in as it always does.

I read through http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=67744.0 and right towards the bottom it mentions metrics for produce based on crop\time.
"With no skill, a single tile of farm plot growing plump helmets will produce 3 plump helmets per season"
"Quarry bushes (rock nuts) are 5 times as effective at producing food"
etc

Is there a list of all crops and amount of food they produce in set amount of time?
How much extra I would get from fertalising?
etc

My current game is set on a frozzen haunted mountain with no trees or vegitation so it'd be pretty handy to know what would get me maximum food\booze.

Cheers

Quarry bushes give most bang for buck, as you harvest a number from one seed (the same as any plant) but then process to a bag, which gives 5 times as much in the form of leaves. Each leaf can then be cooked, as well as the processing gives you back the seeds.

Keep in mind that too much of one thing will agitate the dwarves.

Fertiliser also gives more bang for buck on a per seed and grower time basis. Realistically though, you don't need much to have more than enough food.

Is there a list anywhere that tells me all the details for all the plants?

read the wiki
You know... I hadn't thought of that ¬¬
I have been, as good as it is, it's somewhat patchy

This might be the page you want

As usefull as this is it doesn't show quantity or time to grow.
This is what I'd like to know
http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/DF2010:Sweet_pod

but the other crop pages aren't as indepth

Dig the raw and learn plant tokens. Plant_standard.txt to be exact. GROWDUR time unit is well explained in the Time page of the wiki.

Thank you,

I hadn't even noticed there was a time page on the wiki let alone thought to search through it for what I'm looking for.
