Where is 'muscle' found in the raws?
« on: January 17, 2011, 09:27:14 pm »

For instance, the _MAT tags in reactions refer back to the _MAT defined in the material template. Some things, like bone and leather, have [BONE] and [LEATHER] tags that make their purpose obvious. There doesn't seem to be anything for muscle, unless the game is somehow reading the MUSCLE in [MATERIAL_TEMPLATE:MUSCLE_TEMPLATE].

So in short, where's the text that makes material templates trackable by the game? (I think that's the question I should be asking.)

I ask because I'm trying to make certain creatures drop synthetic corpse items instead of proper corpses. Since these synthetic corpse items are items and not corpses, they should be available for use in reactions. The original plan was to use them for medical training, but I'd like to try and get the trophy items out of sentients as well. So that would be bone, skin, skull, and also cartilage, brain, nervous tissue, fat, and a nice big pile of offal for verisimilitude.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

Muscle appears during butchering due to the MEAT token. That's about it. It's a valid material token, so you can use it in reactions if you want.

But the [MEAT] tag isn't unique to muscle, and therefore can't be what I'm after. I'm looking for the text that's referenced in the MUSCLE part of MEAT:NONE:CREATURE_MAT:CHIPMUNK:MUSCLE.

if you want a specific tissue material for reactions then add a custom one to the creatures you want to drop it.  Or add a new muscle template and replace it, the new one having a material_reaction_product line in it for better referrence in your custom reactions.

And to answer your first question, the text that actually defines what MUSCLE is, is in the BODY_DETAIL_PLAN file.

Ah yes, I see. I always thought that file was just for creating templates so that creature raws would be less 'wordy'. Thanks.
