Well since I completely passed out the instant I hit the bed yesterday we're going to be running the cthulu match today, then we'll try to have three standard fights.

By the way when are you going to do the flying Scaley fire-breathing lizard match?, Are you to allow five players againsit it?

When that one comes up the beastie will probably have its fire breath taken away OR I assume direct control of the dragon, otherwise it's suicide for anyone without a shield.

Well Cthulu is a wily bastard so it took us a while to get him into the arena for combat. (Rent-A-Guards fall for that old dead-but-dreaming trick every single time.) He is here now though and we hope to make this one of our greatest battles, it certainly has an element of risk as well as a excellent reward should any of our gladiators survive.

Powder Maceman, due to his rather indiscriminate tendencies in a fight all of the other gladiators have been urged to, and I quote our beastkeeper here, "Not look too much like Cthulu."

Gaaben, The only person able to establish a conversation with Powder, granted their conversations generally revolve around how best to break a person's knees backwards.

Chazzy, looking for vengeance he stumbled int a match against Cthulu, it might not be what he intended but still... He has two swords, a temper, and beast covered in tentacles. What more could a dwarf want?

Vs.

Cthulu, Priest of the Old Ones, Scion of madness, and probably a Great Old One himself. Whatever he is you can be fairly sure he's badass.

The gladiators are eager, Powder keeps shouting at cthulu, and cthulu is complaining that he's going to go mad if Powder doesn't shut up. Charzy is scraping his swords together for lack of something better to do, and Gaaben is pantomiming bashing crab legs and eating them. Cthulu however won't be an easy foe, at eight tons their best hope is to incapacitate him and hope for a lucky killing blow.



Chazzy is down! Cthulu unleashes a mighty head chomp crushes his skill into a pulp, Powder and Gaaben attack with redoubled ferocity in an attempt to avenge their comrade. Gaaben bites Cthulu in the flipper to almost no effect, and Powder unleashes the full force of his flails upon Cthulu but only manages to bruise him. Cthulu uses one of his great pincers to swipe off one of Powder's hands, then sends him flying a tentacle bash that collapses on of Powder's lungs. Sensing victory cthulu swarms over to where powder lies unconscious and prepares to strike, at that moment gaaben (he finally released the grip of his teeth on cthulu's fin) jumps on top of cthulu, and brings his hammer down upon cthulu's awful head. There is a sickening crunch and then the great beast slowly topples sideways. 




Well done indeed Gaaben, your skill with that hammer will become the stuff off legends I'm sure. Your rewards are well earned, take them and the shadowsteel mask, may they serve you well. Powder, well you did what you could but... missing a hand, ribs broken, and a broken lung I feel it is safe say that you were the damsel in distress for this fight. Chazzy, may you rest in peace.

Anyone who doesn't bet on Remalle is a damned fool. No offense to Kzel, but he's the oldest living fighter in the thread and a goddamn juggernaut because of it. When he upgrades from iron it will be terrifying.

Jmod and Rag should be interesting. I'm leaning toward the dwarf over the gnome personally, but that could seriously go anywhere.

I.....I HOPE I win  . To be honest I'm rather intimidated by that 6 hammer, but hopefully my bronze will make the difference. And the shield I guess, but without any skill in it I'm not holding my breath.

EDIT: To be clear, I'm not betting. I'm tempted to put something down on Remalle or even myself, but I think I'll wait until I have more gear to spare. Or at least until I know Mr Kleist can survive at least one fight.

True, so true. I don't value my chances particularly high. I guess my brain was even more affected than I thought, going up after the champion so soon, especially against a dwarf, almost fully armored and using an axe while I have both hands and feet unprotected. I predict another horrible death by dismemberment  .
