SPECIAL EVENT : "THE RACE"

I've just been informed by our beastmaster that our big cats have given birth... to an unusual amount of litter. We ask for our warrior's help in culling their number to a manageable level, by organizing a killing race! A minimum of two participants is needed to hold a particular race.

The rules are simple, and each race will give prizes. There will be one race per skill level. All volunteers begin their fight at the same time, separately, and the first and second to strike a killing blow win the prizes. The other participants simply go back to the barracks, if they're still standing...

• for rookies (0 win), you fight 1 leopard. The first to win gets one steel piece of his choice, 2 skill points, and advances to veteran immediately ! The second gets 1 iron piece, 1 skill point and advances to experienced.
• for experienced fighters (1 win), you fight 1 jaguar and 1 leopard. The first to win gets one fairie silver piece of his choice, 2 skill points, and advances to slayer (3 win) immediately ! The second gets 1 iron piece, 1 skill point and advances to veteran.
• for veteran fighters (2 wins), you fight 1 lion, 1 leopard and 1 jaguar ! The first to win gets one shadowsteel piece of his choice, 2 skill points, and advances to champion (4 win) immediately ! The second gets 1 iron piece, 1 skill point and advances to slayer.
• for slayers (3 wins), you fight 2 jaguars, 1 lion and 1 jaguar ! This time, the first gets one ADAMANTIUM item of his choice, 2 skill points, and join the ranks of our champions! The second only gets one steel item and 1 skill point, but remains a slayers until another victory.
• as for our champions (4 wins) you can help by fighting against no less than 5 big cats! 2 lions, 2 jaguars and 1 leopard will have to be surmounted to be the winner, and it will be no easy feat! If you manage your last killing blow first, TWO ADAMANTIUM items and 2 skill points are in for you!

I'm not volunteering for this, but I'd like to see a fight between a veteran and a small team of rookies.  Can you make it happen?

Edit:  Will the participants be fighting simultaneously, but separately?  Also, I assume if a participant is killed he's dead, but what if someone loses the Race but survives?

If you die in the race, you die. It's unlikely for the first levels, but veteran, slayer and champion fights are very dangerous (mostly because of the lions)! The reward is huge though.
If you're third or later in the race, but survive the fight, you get nothing !
