Well it would imply that I keep one guy alive long enough to 'Stab thy wench with thou mannly scepter', and then live for another nine months, and the temptation of seeing how high a cliff I can fall off and survive is so great.

In the latest DF Talk Toady talked about implementing adventure mode long-term waiting, so you could just sit in a cottage for nine months.

I wonder if pregnancy wil show in the same way as in fortress mode (ie, not at all)?

You slash the Goblin in the right upper leg, tearing the skin!
The Goblin stabs you in the upper body, but the attack is deflected by your bronze mail shirt!
You have given birth to a boy.
You slash the Goblin in the lower body, tearing the skin and bruising the muscle!

If pregnancy isn't announced, I'm probably going to be pissed or happy. Come on, you don't want to give birth while running from 10 bogeymen. Although, it would be hilarious to kill a (Semi-)mega beast just because a baby took a hit for you or you threw it at the Giant Fireshirt the Canyon of Happiness.

That stuff became WAY less hilarious when I had a kid.... You'd think it wouldn't've, given how cynical I am, but there you have it.

So you're saying just by having a kid in real life, it ruins all the fun of watching kids die in DF?
