We've actually got a decent bit of money now - and a few options on how to expand.

Before I put the poll up, any ideas? I'm thinking
"Found new manufacturing base+radar station in India"
Or
"Found new manufacturing base+radar station in the US"
Or
Spend it all on expanding our current base with more lab space and researchers and engineers.

Any new base would by default be called "AlienStomp"

Belt-cannon is made of Win.

Anyway, I vote for expanding our current base.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

I'd say stick a base in the US so we can cover that hemisphere better.

Also, apparently Lucky is a girl. Not that it matters or changes anything, just noting for future RP segments.

Yeah, Tarran noticed that. My character is still quite oblivious. What, you think he looks at his soldiers? Even the ones he's served with for years and trusts completely? ;)

I got a promotion! WOOT!

But anyways, finish whatever is currently baking in research, and get alloys done NOW.

Also.

Pssht, Alloys! Who needs 'em, right?

Honestly though, I'd be cool with alloys. Wooh for better ships!

Expand current base or build a new base in the US.

Commander Griffin, Log 12
The new soldiers have arrived, along with a batch of engineers and scientists so that our facilities are operating at peak efficiency. One of the soldiers comes highly recommended, by the name of Phantom. We'll see about that. What sort of pansy uses a made up name like Banshee. You can't just call yourself something like that, you need to EARN it! Some of the others are supposed to be decent  as well... Hexedy is a seasoned soldier, Oruza apparently served in the same squad as Azuro, and Maxclone is, supposedly, some sort of experiment. Hence the one after his name. Yeah, because the last prototype they sent me went so well. Anyways, what is he? Some sort of robot or something? I'll have to ask him later.
Spoiler: Maxclone 1 (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Banshee (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Oruza (click to show/hide)

We missed several UFO's - I hope they did not accomplish any nefarious missions. It upsets me that they are all just flying around not getting shot down. Stupid pilots.

They finally got one, and Tarran is leading another group out. I've told him to leave the tank at home this time and give the new bodies a chance to get some experience.

Captain Tarran, Log 3
The mission was a success, but what should have been a cakewalk still managed to result in the death of one of the greens. If the commander had let me bring the tank instead, this wouldn't have happened. Still, Banshee had a chance to show her merits - She managed to put a single bullet into every alien we took down today, killing two and leaving the last one for Lucky to finish off with a grenade. That woman is a good shot. I'll have to keep that in mind.

Captain Tarran, Log 4
We've managed to catch one mid mission - since we didn't have to shoot the craft down, recovering it should prove incredibly valuable.

Floaters this time - we spotted one in one of the windows, and I responded by blowing away the wall. The alien seemed surprised, but otherwise escaped the blast, and recovered quickly enough to return a single wild shot before lucky pumped two bullets into its chest from a ways away with pinpoint accuracy.

We spread out, covering the field, retrieving and the sending flares ahead of us. Another alien was downed with a bullet from Banshee, at the cost of one of our green recruits, and then a final floating ethereal was killed. While several men watched the door, the others confirmed the field to be free of aliens, and we moved inside.

We took positions, watching the doors, and finally an alien dared to move through them. We fired at it, and it fired at Lucky, scoring a solid hit. We were sure she would go down, but she seemed... unphased. If anything, a bit angry, as she ran up and began pummeling the thing with her stun rod. Not stunning, no, just pummeling. It made a high pitched whining sound, bordering on a scream, before Frog moved up to take the stun rod from her hand and it use it properly to knock the alien unconscious. He picked up the alien weapon, looking at it for a second.

"Haha, the things broken! Look, here on the side, it must have been damaged in the crash. Lucky, I can see how you earned your name and woah-" he was interrupted by a floater barreling through the door. He loaded two bullets into it, stumbling backwards. "Phew, that was too close."

"Hah," said Lucky, "Lucks nice, but you've got the mad skills. Nice reaction time! Now, who's going to handle that room full of hostiles?"

"I got this!" yelled Hexady, rushing past them to throw a grenade inside before anyone could stop him. As he turned back to them, though, he was caught by a plasma bolt and fell in a crumpled heap. Lucky followed it up with another grenade, and then ducked back into the room - followed by a bolt of plasma that hit Frog right in the chest.

"Shit... Lucky... they got me..."
"No, Frog, come on... hold in there..."
"Sorry, Lucky... this one was... *cough* no dud shot..."
As he died, Lucky looked up, angrier than ever. "Bastards took two grenades already, what will it take to kill them, damn it!"

I yelled for her not to do anything rash as we killed an alien coming out of the other door. I have a feeling she was about to ignore me, but now was as good a time as ever. I nodded for Max to lead us into the room.

We headed through the door, Banshee killing an alien as it came around the corner, the retreated back into the small side room, hoping to draw them after us. When it didn't follow, we cautiously opened the door back up to see lucky holding her stun rod against its neck, her finger jammed against the power button, watching its muscles convulse.

Heck yeah! Phantom sure as hell likes serving under Tarran!

But not Griffin.

Oh well, I got awesome stats, 40 bravery? Sweet. 40 health? Decent. 58 TU's? Not so hot but good. 43 Strength? Awesome! 65 Firing Accuracy? Obviously great.

43 Strength? Awesome!
Makes one wonder why you're using a rifle and not a rocket launcher.

65 Firing Accuracy? Obviously great.
And hopefully when you get in higher ranks you'll get even more accurate.

Well, it would be even greater if I use HE Packs instead.

"Phantom! Take down that Cyberdisc!"
On it!
*Throws 2 HE Packs at it. Nuclear explosion ensues.*

Updated my last post. We lost an amazing warrior today! :*(

And also Phantom, now you know why it took you so long to get in the game. I was waiting for the right recruit.

And you guys don't know how hard it was to resist the urge to savescum to save Frog. I liked him. But I'm only save-scumming for bugs, and I'm sticking too it, damn it.

also, huge windfall from that mission - 200,000! Woah. Thats nice for a fairly small ship!

Wait, I'm a woman? I'll just write it in that I have long hair. Also, those are Floaters, not Ethereals.

Bah, stupid mistake on my part. Fixed.

And yeah, you totally just have long hair. Not a woman at all.

Would you like to change your loadout instead of using the rifle?
