Game slaughter animals
« on: January 13, 2011, 08:36:02 pm »

For some odd reason, my butcher shop decided to come up with the task to slaughter my war dog. The one that's been cut open, fractured, guts spilling out...... and is the pet of my legendary miner.

Right now, I'm trying to decide whether its a bug, the butcher decided to practise euthanasia and not waste the meat or human error:D

If it's a pet (or assigned war animal, as I think the case may be), it shouldn't be butcherable at all. Not sure why there's a task to butcher that one. Are you sure it's not a different animal?

If he died I believe the butcher will butcher the corpse.

He still shouldn't if it's a pet.  I think it's supposed be tossed into a graveyard stockpile and not eaten, like it's special or something.

And I believe if the pet owner is alive, he will insist on burying the corpse properly (in a coffin, or at least in the graveyard, now called corpse pile). At least it would explain why some of my dead pets got a coffin and others were left in the refuse pile (yet not eaten/butchered).

It's possible that the dog was designated before it was a war dog and/or pet.
