Problem with trolls in cages
« on: January 12, 2011, 07:09:59 pm »

Allright, i have 3 cages, all filled with trolls.  However, no one seems to want ot take them to the animals stockpile, which is currently filled with goblins.  In cages. Now, why is no one able to take the trolls, and bring them over to the animals stockpile?  Also, there are several other goblins in cages that aren't taken into the stockpile.  Is there any reason they aren't taken to the stockpile? i need an army of goblins to help defend me against hell.

Also, when a goblin on a mount is caught by a cage trap, are they both taken into the cage?

not sure about your problem, but i doubt that an army of goblins and trolls will stand much of a change vs HFS.

i used HFS against invaders and the invaders got decimated

For mounted invaders I *think* the mount gets caged and the goblin escapes.

I have to say this does sound a rather splendid idea

Is it possible to spawn demons and goblins in the arena?

Are the cages built, using the b menu? If they are you have to deconstruct them into troll cage items before movement.

No, the cages themselves are still located where the traps are.  They got trapped, remain in the square.  No one is moving them.

1.hmm, do you have enough room in the stockpile?
2.check to see if your dwarfs are allowed to place them in the pile

yes, there is enough room in the stockpile,

and they ARE allowed to put them into the stockpile.

In fact, cages aren't moving anywhere. I have plenty of dwarves on "moving things" duty.

Are they restricted to burrows? Did you forget to turn off a civ alert?

Is the Animal stockpile set to receive certain types of animals? if so, Trolls might be excluded.
