You are shocked by the sudden transition from the small cave you had just entered to this... place.

It appears to be a vast black void. You are standing on one of a small group of floating stones, in the shapes of forign glyphs. There are a few oddly scattered walls.

The nearby drop into void is very unnerving.

You are surprised as a long wall appears, one block at a time in rapid succession, and fairly relieved that it forms a nice corner away from the edge to stand in, letting you take your mind off of the potentially endless drop a few steps away.

You inspect the glyphs. They are made of pure white marble inlaid in obsidian slabs. They are fairly simple forms, and yet from no language that you know of.

Most characters do/will/can have special meaning, and all of the characters in the following font are available(except for the placeholders, and if I ever make an image for any of them, the newly added ones will be available, too):



This includes characters that do nothing (on their own, at least), control characters that affect how other characters are written, and characters that, once placed, react in the world, somewhat like the particles in a falling sand game.

And, eventually, there will be plot, too!

Finally, the available colour combinations:


The font is designed so that 15 of the 16 combinations in the bottom-left to top-right diagonal are distinguishable, unlike most other fonts.
The colours used were taken from the default Dwarf Fortress configuration(with the extention that background colours can use the full set, rather than only the darker .


If you want spaces used for alignment to be the same width when you write as when it is used, use [tt] or [code].
