That would be much more likely to be a thing that happens.

I'm for the next round. Please some sort of technology in there PLEASE!
Technology? What, like, items?
Beginner's Mafia is pretty much traditionally a near-Mountainous game. I can't just go adding stuff to the formula willy-nilly!
I think he might have meant some sort of Sci-fi setting.
Exactly.

That would be much more likely to be a thing that happens.
Nice! That would be great.

I thought your opening was fine. You were asking questions and such, and forming suspicions. I didn't see a problem.

This game just suffered from everyone looking for the wrong kinds of evidence.

Also: passive, quiet lynching.

QUIET BANDWAGON LYNCHES ARE SCUM-FRIENDLY LYNCHES

Also, moar extensions. Extensions are almost always helpful to town.

zrk2 don't ask for role reveals so early.  Even to discuss.

oh right the rolefishing. I forgot about the rolefishing.

Yeah that's typically a strong scumtell.

town only needs to know the cop (of these selections) and only after the first night (when the cop has had a chance to check) and then only [probably] after the cop found a scum.

To be perfectly frank with you all,

Day 2 was kind of a joke

:I

That Bandwagon-ShortenTheDay-Don'tQuestionIt stuff shouldn't have been allowed to happen.

Scum was laughin' all the way to the bank

EDIT: This isn't to say it wasn't justified, however.

Darvi, I'm sorry, but that was incredibly self-defeating play. You overreacted to a single vote against you and went all gloom-and-doom. How did you expect everyone to respond, exactly?

Town might have actually had a better shot if they had gone and mislynched Zrk2 on day 2 like they wanted to originally.

To put it another way:

Any attempt to stifle discussion is very anti-town.  It's not always scummy to shorten, especially if people have stopped talking, but doing so early in the day after several people vote one way (without something like a cop claim) is very scummy.

Eh, it' because I know people. All it takes is a vocal minority and then everybody's jumping on the bandwagon. Also I had very little to defend myself with. Also I have a slightly spiteful mentality that prefers that people go "Oh my god what have I done!" instead of proactively convincing them they're wrong. Which I'm also very bad at.

Exactly how they did.
Seriously, one moment I'm discussing with Tolyk whether or not Zrk2 or Ottofar were scum (and really, their rolefishing and cryptic responses weren't helpful), and the next, everybody else accuses me. People generally dislike changing their minds because that implies that they're wrong, and they'd rather defend their choice as much as they can until it's too late.

Darvi, if you must give up or require sarcasm or whatnot, you may wish to consider a different game.  (Though you may wish to improve on that attribute)

An important thing I learned from squirtle in Sorcerer is that if you aren't fairly sure you can't post twice a day with reasonably good posts (instead of "I'm here") you shouldn't play -- it's not fair to your team.

I never was really sarcastic. Except for that one time when Zrk2 called me out on it. To be exact, my response to him (falsely) calling me out on it.

But yeah, I should stop being so antisocial >_>

That's a pretty cynical viewpoint for Mafia, and Mafia shouldn't be taken as standard social interaction

Darvi, I'm sorry, but that was incredibly self-defeating play. You overreacted to a single vote against you and went all gloom-and-doom.
Eh, it' because I know people. All it takes is a vocal minority and then everybody's jumping on the bandwagon.

If that was true, scum would never lose

It was a self-fulfilling expectation; your cynicism led to their accusations. They didn't vote you based on what one dude - Azure, scum no less - said, from what I can see, they voted you based solely on your reaction to Azure

I'm not trying to be a jerk by picking on you here, but it was probably the most obvious problem I saw, and it'll help you improve yourself if you like Mafia and wish to continue playing (please do! More players = awesome)

On the other hand, I've only been playing Mafia since late-November.

Perhaps you should seek advice from the wiser, more experienced players.

Actually my first post after that was a genuine, if weak, attempt not to get lynched. Everything after that was genuine cynism though. I really need to cut down on that.

Does anyone know how how to reallocate skillpoints?
