DF Comics
« on: January 11, 2011, 06:36:21 pm »

I was messing around, practicing with my tablet, so I thought I'd draw a DF comic.

I still need tons more practice, and I waste lots of time finding stuff to draw, so if any of you wanna suggest anything, I'll draw it!

Also, does anyone else know of any ongoing DF comics? Strike The Earth looks like it's permanently dead.

Whoa, you've got some talent there, dude(tte?)!  :o

I once had a very badly injured soldier in the hospital; the guy had been turned into a pincushion by goblins but somehow survived. Well, not for long. He was infected, anyway, so my hopes weren't high about his survival. A few months after being diagnosed and before he received the last of his treatments, he got up and left his bed under the fallacious excuse of "picking up equipment".
He walked, unflinching, towards a booze pile. That was not where I remember having last seen his armor and weapon.
The dumbass then sat down and gulped down alcohol, still "picking up equipment". He never moved from that spot, presumably still drinking his ass off, until he died, a month or so later.
Would you mind drawing something based off that particular anecdote?  :)

I don't mean to alarm you, but it appears that your Dwarves are all in fact elephants.

Write a comic about my cripple adventurer who could just crawl around and commited suicide by attacking his allies and letting them kill him.

I drew this a while ago.

http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=74601.msg1863083#msg1863083

Wasn't related to any events that happened to me personally, but it is for DF.

Isn't there a huge fanart thread on the general forums or something?

Yeah, in the future you probably shouldn't strike the earth quite so hard

I searched before I started this topic, and didn't find it. Got a link?

These are really cool!  You are a very good artist.  There are just so many stories that can be told in Dwarf Fortress.  I hope you can continue the great work for as long as it is fun.

Your nickname should be "The Millenial Apiary".  I was trying to think some sort of wordplay on "athousandbees", but then i realized that "millenial apiary" sounded just like the random names DF produces.

Toughen Dwarves by dropping stuff on them.  (Nothing too heavy though, and make sure to wear armor.)

They decided to leave my fortress via the circus because the front door was locked to keep Goblins out.  THAT should be an interesting trip back to the Mountainhome.

Very nice.
if you are still looking for things to draw, there is "The Story of Stubbs" going on in a neighbouring thread.
