You're still being hyperbolic. Jack A T didn't remind everybody what his reasons for when he voted JTF. When he switched, all he said about JTF was that he was in the lead. How was JTF to know what the specific reasons were for Jack A T's vote?
Calling it a lie is still portraying things as negatively as possible. Misunderstanding or error more likely, but hardly a lie.
Bullshit. It's now you who is engaging in hyperbole for Janus's benefit. I quoted it in the post to which he responded; he read it, there's no way around it. He even said, less than 30 minutes later "He did have a reason to vote me which I won't deny," but did deny it 30 minutes earlier.

It is a clear, deliberate, manipulative lie, made in a jumpy, panicky fashion to dissuade a voter. On top of everything else, it's not hyperbole to say it is a definite scummy lie.

It does no such thing. OK, you're right that I didn't see it, but compare the statements:
I can find more comparable statements from JTF showing that him being self-interested is well within his town meta. Like this one, or this one, or this one, or this one. I can go on.
Bullshit again. Now you are purposely misreading his meta to benefit him. Here are the oh so comparable statements:

Town Janus
"Doubt it will do any good, but one can dream."
"I'll play the part of the optimist [...] (I can dream, can't I?)."
"why in the world would I attract this much attention?"
"Believe what you will though, although I'd prefer you not lynch me over it."

Current Janus
"Riddle me this, all of you voting me: Are you confident enough that I'm scum that you'd risk killing one of the most active players on Day 1?"
"You're jumping from bandwagon to bandwagon without giving your reasoning. That *is* scummy around here."

Do you truly see no difference between "I'd prefer you not lynch me over it" or "one can dream" and "Are you confident enough that I'm scum that you'd risk killing one of the most active players on Day 1?" Are those statements equivalent in your mind? I see them miles apart. One is a normally-defensive stance for a beleaguered townie, the other is a threat to the town to dissuade voters, made by a scum afraid for his own skin. That you continue to insist it isn't so is suspicious of you.

So, you're either cherry picking your meta for your case or you just completely misread it. Which is it, Zathras?
You're the one doing the picking, and failing to measure up. So, are you cherry picking his meta to help your case, or completely and intentionally misreading it? Which is it, Jim?

However, with the day about to end so son, I'm going to vote.
I really don't like this.
For how long were you planning on voting JTF? It's better to put these things down early so that people can get a read on you. Last minute decisions are usually frowned upon.
Yeah! You tell him! That's *is* scummy around here, ainnit? Funny how you only complain about his vote when it goes to Janus, or unvoting MBP... But we've already been down this road before.

At the start of this day (day 2, not the real-life day), I was tending towards Janus, though Zathras was really starting to feel off and Org felt...useless.  I decided to wait, think, comment on things, ask and answer (mostly answer) questions, and decide later, when I had a better idea of who was scum.  I was sort of expecting an extension.  Heck, I moved for one.

I've been relatively distracted for these last two days.  Had a provincial exam (British Columbia...) to study for.

NativeForeigner to answer:  If Dariush or JTF are looking like scum, why not vote them instead of the perpetual lurker?

Because I was trying to encourage the lurker to get back into the game. It seemed to work fairly well. Along with that, Dariush's curret playstyle doesn't quite match up to what I know his scum-style to be and my only bit against JTF is a giant pile of WIFOM.

Mr. Person, I said, in the second line, that those were just my quick thoughts. I was still in the process of catching up and I'm taking a little longer than usual to form questions. I know I'm not being very helpful yet, I hope to fix that soon.

Zathras: Unfortunately, the day-end is near, so rather than give an acceptable response to you, I'm going to focus solely on the person I'm voting for. I will, however, be more than glad to give an appropriate response tomorrow or if the extend actually goes through.

Org has been utterly useless. Sitting comfortable within his meta.

I'm tempted to vote Janus, but I know little of his meta and have nothing other than WIFOM. Janus, what do you have to say about Zathras' attacks on you? What about Jim's defense for you?

Unfortunately, at this point I can only support the Dariush lynch or tie things up, neither of which I really want to do. So I'm leaving my vote on Archangel until he produces something useful like he promised.

I was waiting for more information, more evidence, more opinions, and such.  I was expecting a slightly more...interesting, informative, and long second day, though.
This is a horrible stance to have. The problem is that too many people do that. Thus *nothing happens* as you've seen with the second sentence.

Do you think that both Zathras and I are scum or just one or the other?

I'm tempted to vote Janus, but I know little of his meta and have nothing other than WIFOM. Janus, what do you have to say about Zathras' attacks on you? What about Jim's defense for you?
You could look at the links Jim posted. Don't vote me unless you're sure enough to tie the vote. Regarding Zathras' attacks on me, they're a load of crap. I'm pretty sure I've said as much, if not I should have. It's mostly shaky meta. He focuses (I still think it's tunneling, even if he doesn't) like this if he's town, drives mislynches like this if he's scum. Essentially, meh.  Jim's defense of me is a little weird, but I don't think it's unusual. He's done the same before as town.

He's on my list, so vote Dariush to avoid a tie and object to extension. It really looks like it'd just be be more Zathras and Jim bickering and lurkers lurking, so lets give the roles a chance to act and the scum a chance to actually kill someone. (Before you read that the wrong way: it's good information).

If for some reason I don't live through the night, go back and look at my summary post.

If he flips town, I predict this will come back to haunt you. It seems to me you just want the day to end before people dig too deeply on your scumminess or have a chance to change their minds.

You could look at the links Jim posted.
Or the ones I did, which by the way show both Jim's and Janus's scum game... but your mileage may vary.

Oh, you've been railing on me since Day 1. If people were going to bite for that alone, they probably would have done so already.  And yes, you're quite correct that it's going to come back to bite me tomorrow if he flips town (or possibly even if he doesn't). We'll deal with that tomorrow.

You could look at the links Jim posted.

In interest of fairness, look at both. (I'll admit I haven't looked at either yet :-\, been typing a mile a minute between the various things I'm trying to do right now).

A lot has happened since then; both of you have had a chance to dig yourselves deeper (or offer counterarguments, depending on your point of view), which may help people solidify their thoughts one way or another.

Which reminds me, both about the above and this:

Quote from: Janus
it'd just be be more Zathras and Jim bickering

You say that like it was a bad thing... ;-)

The Scribe's Tally Sheet
Archangel: NativeForeigner
Dariush: JanusTwoface, Leafsnail, Ottofar, Toaster
JanusTwoface: Jack A T, Zathras
Toaster: Dariush
Zathras: Jim Groovester

Dariush walks up to the executioner's platform, escorted by two guards.

He gives a long, sad look around before bowing his head in prayer. After a few moments he allows the executioner to put the rope around his next.

A swift kick, a cracking sound, and he is dead.

The High Priest sadly walks up and places his hand on Dariush's chest.

"I can hear his soul, singing hymns as it floats to the heavens. He was one of my Priests, and I fear we shall mourn his loss in the days to come. In any case, he was not part of the evil that plagues us. Please, think carefully of the events of the day this night. We cannot afford more mistakes like this!

A cold wind blows over the town this morning. People slowly trickle into the courtyard, wrapped in coats and cloaks. Hats pulled low over the ears.

JanusTwoFace does not join you this day. Concerned you all go with the town watch to his house. It’s obvious, form the smashed front door, that something is wrong.

Inside you find his body. Beaten, broken, lying in a pool of blood. Whoever did this was brutal and excessive. He probably died long before his attacker was finished.

The High Priest walks in and looks around. “Hmmm. A Seer, I would think, based on the mirror there.”

He places a hand on the least bloodied part of the body. “Ah, already taken by the gods. A good man, then, and an ally of ours. I fear things go poorly. You must find the evil, and soon!”

You head back to the courtyard. Who among you would do that??

Day 3 has started. It will go until ~5pm Pacific Tuesday.

...argh.

Well.  My thoughts:

*At least one of Org, Archangel, Ottofar, and Mr. Person is probably scum.  The more active players left, with the exception of Zathras, give a good town feel to me.
*Lynching one of our more active players at the moment is probably not the best idea.  We're running dangerously low on good, highly active scumhunters.

With that in mind, Org, Archangel, Mr. Person, Zathras.

Org, Archangel, Ottofar, and Mr. Person: Who do you suspect and why?

Zathras: Huh.  Janus is town.  How does this change your opinion of Jim, if at all?

Janus's flip is kind of a surprise.  I need to go back over this.

In the meantime, while Native responds to Leafsnail, let me ask this:

Leafsnail:  The kill flavor really doesn't look like a vampire did it to me.  What do you think did that?  Any guess on who?

Since you've apparently identified one form of scum, JTF's kill doesn't look like a vampire kill. Or at the very least, it doesn't look like what I'd expect. You know, teeth marks. Lack of blood.

Leafsnail:  The kill flavor really doesn't look like a vampire did it to me.  What do you think did that?  Any guess on who?

Stole the words out of my mouth.

If the kill is some kind of third party, what do you think the vampires could be doing?

If the kill is some kind of third party, what do you think the vampires could be doing?

Vampires could be a full-fledged vampire-making cult, but I'm a bit doubtful of that.

A different idea, which explains the lack of a kill on night 1, is that it/they can't kill on their own, and have to convert other people to become violent killing roles.  Maybe a Ghoul?  Flavour isn't consistent with Round 2's ghoul kill, though...
