So get rid of the damned guns and we no longer need to worry about people killing each other.

This makes you sound like a parody of the gun control people. I mean really? Murder never happened before guns?

But what about hunting? I imagine it's pretty difficult to hunt ducks with a longbow.

You pretty much can't hunt ducks with a bow.

You can if you're Green Arrow.

Also: you can't HUG YOUR CHILDREN WITH NUC... er, FIREARMS!

Hunting is a sport. The weapons would be supplied and taken away at the start and end.

That would be taking away rights in America.

There weren't school shootings in the 40s, 50s, or 60s. Back when you could buy them through the mail. They were incredibly easy to buy with little to no qualifying factors. And there weren't school shootings.

The US provides protective laws for people who killed in self defense.

Also I would like to mention that Kentucky has a quite low crime rate.

4.1 murders per 100,000 inhabitants?  That's like uh... only 3 times the UK rate?

Yeah, when a state has a higher murder rate then a country, you have a problem.

Also, the second amendment could be considered out dated. It made sense back then, but now its bullsh*t.

But you haven't factored in the assault rate.

The second amendment is quite important. What if a bear with a sword broke in and you couldn't voice complaint?

Yeah, when a state has a higher murder rate then a country, you have a problem.

That makes no sense at all... a murder rate is a percentile. Half of your states are going to have a higher murder rate than the whole country it is in!

Yes, Urist, googling that is one way to get to the wikipedia page, which can redirect you to other sources if you like.

Well, no.  Since it's a rate, it's irrelevant how big the area being measured is.  And it is true that Kentucky has a relatively low murder rate within America.

Gimme a second to find assault rate statistics.

No, hunting is an activity, primarily used to acquire food but sometimes other goods (such as bone, pelt, etc). Hunting may also be a sport but that isn't its main purpose. And even as a sport it definitely isn't one in the same sense as say, baseball. There's no stadium, no referee, no spectators. Hunting is done in large areas over long periods of time. It isn't feasible to keep them contained. People can just wander on and off the property.

And no, why would I have a javelin at home? I'm not into javelin throwing. If I were into javelin throwing then yeah, I probably would just so I could practice on my own time. Just as if I were into fencing I would own swords.

No using. That's not what freedom is for.

Oh god, how I aprove of this quote.
Just for the sake of it, I'm going to say it as well.

YOU CAN'T HUG YOUR CHILDREN WITH NUCLEAR WEAPONS.

As for gun control? 'Eh, this topic just seems a little bit exreme. I'll just avoid making any comments to either side. :x

Guns, I like guns, I want guns, I am planning to get my CHL soon.  I am inheriting some more guns from my father.  Hooray for guns.  I like guns for hunting, and guns for home defense, and guns for blowing the shit outta stuff.  I loved my gun rifle(smirk) in the Army.  I like knowing I have been trained to hit a man-sized target at 300 meters without a scope.  I like the fact that my father taught me about gun safety and about respecting guns at an early age.  I like that fact that I live in a country where my right to own a gun is protected (for now).  I love the feeling of knowing I just made a bad-ass shot.  I like to clean my gun rifle (smirk).  I like that fact that a friend bought a reloader.  Thats right, we are re-using our brass.  I like that.  Were motherfucking recycling bitches!  Booyaa, I like recycling and protecting the planet, with my guns.   8)
