Okaaaay... but blush doesn't show through fur. Or fluff. So why are there two bald patches under the eyes?

1. It's a fur pattern bred through evolution as it proved superior through the powerful forces of Cute Intentions.
2. They are actually nipples.
3. It's designed by Armok in mind to raise hope in your (elven/human/other) heart, only for you to turn around as that hope is brutally murdered when demonic creatures turn you to fucking shreds.

Number Three seemed like the most rational conclusion to me.

Well since I found out they are humanoid, I see them as Wombles. So much like the Dwarf fortress counterpart are incredibly fun to throw and if possible shoot.

Based off the wiki, and Sphalerite's revealing information on the raws, I'd say that fluffy wamblers are in fact, fuzzy humanoid amoebas. The latter classification would explain the lack of a mouth, and the mysterious "pudge" which makes up their bodies. Said pudge is highly acidic, and they are capable of secreting small quantities for defensive and foraging purposes, thus explaining their low penetrative abilities, in spite of the lack of a mouth. When thrown at something hard enough, they splatter, corroding metal, dissolving flesh, and eating away at wood.

According to the creature raws, Fluffy Wamblers are small creatures: size 2000, 1/30 the size of an adult dwarf and slightly smaller than a newborn dwarf baby.  They have the HUMANOID_SIMPLE body plan, which is essentially a simplified humanoid form with single-part arms and legs.  Their bodies are covered with soft white 'fluff'.  They have no bones, blood, or internal organs, being filled with a homogeneous 'pudge' material.  Their have no mouths, their heads having only two black eyes and a nose (2EYES:NOSE).  Despite their lack of mouth or internal organs, they still will eat loose bits of food left lying around (VERMIN_EATER) - according to Toady, they just absorb it directly into the 'pudge' through their bellies.  They can get food out of simple containers only (PENETRATEPOWER:1)

Basically, they're living teddy bears.
