How come you get loads of snow in the US? In Britain we just get a few days of snow then really cold rain/hailstone  :-\ .
How come you get rain in the UK? In Israel we just get a few days of rain and then some cold winds. It gets warmer shortly after. A couple of weeks later it rains again, we get wind, and then the weather warms up once more.
Not much of a winter if you ask me, we run around in short sleeves throughout.

One of the awesome things about winter is it being pitch black even at 7:30 in the morning. It makes mornings feel fun.

Absolutely.
Though I got some funny looks, walking around town that time of the morning.

I was gonna go to college, but then it snowed.
(mmm-hmmm)
I was gonna study real hard and do well, but then it snowed.
(hmm-hmmm!)
Now I'm browsing forums, and I know why!

Because it snowed.
Because it snowed.
Because it snowed.

We got several hours of frozen rain that then proceded to melt overnight and refreeze into ice. I imagine the other forum goers in the Triangle are not very happy, but it gets me out of school, so I am.

Down here in the south, we're loving the snow.
Amen. Atlanta got it's first white cristmas in some 200 years.
I was in Georgia for that, very nice. Here in Charlotte, NC we've had snow (3-5) inches twice so far this season, the most recent being a few days ago. Missed two days of school so far, crossing my fingers for a refreeze tomorrow :). I don't mind the weather too much, I prefer a dry cold winter day to a sweaty humid summer one. Also when it has snowed, it never gets very dark outside even at night.

Down here in Oz, we've had a really rainy summer. This has been great for the south, since we've been in a drought for fifteen years and have such ridiculous dam capacity that it's taken us that long to get down to 10% remaining water.

For the north, however... Not good.

We got about two inches in December, and a couple mere flakes yesterday.  I wouldn't mind more snow.

The temperature on the other hand.  My house is drafty.  I have serious problems getting out of bed when it's 60 degrees indoors.

Fuck yeah, I love winter and snow and national romaticist mountainous landscapes. And stuff like that.

We got a nice, white christmas around here. It's all gone now, though. Despite its name, it never gets really cold here in Iceland. If it goes beneath negative twenty degrees Celsius, that's rather unusual. If it goes above positive twenty degrees Celsius, that's also unusual.

We do, however, get very little sunlight during the winter. And then the sun stays up all night during the summer.

I wouldn't be too surprised if it started snowing again in March, though. It did that last time ::)
