To Tosid
Although I still have yet to start on the main wall, a few strategically placed boulders serves as an impromptu fence for our encampment. I'm currently working to replace it with a simple wall about three meters high, from which we should be able to defend ourselves until I have the labor and materials to build the main walls. They will be glorious structures, far better then anything the humans could do. Each one will be slightly taller then the next. Should one fall, our defenders would be able to retreat, and they'll be built so that our military will be able to fire at the invaders of the outer walls with ease. An array of ballistae and catapults, carefully constructed so as to be unable to hit the other walls, will be able to easily smash any siege weaponry the goblins bring. Should they somehow get past all three walls, I've got several surprises in mind for them.
Kobolds were spotted trying to steal some of our possessions, but we killed some of them. One of our own was injured trying to kill them in their primitive camp, but she'll live.
Our food and booze supplies continue to dwindle. Some of our brave dwarves went to the elves to trade for more supplies, and were ambushed by treants. I'm not quite sure what happened, but they brought back enough to keep us going for a while longer.
Our noble is on trial right now, accused of hording supplies for his own benefit. I don't feel like I belong here as part of the trial, but apparently one of my duties as second-in-command has something to do with needing to be able to stand as one of the judges in case our leader is not present to do so, and so I'm partially listening. Seems easy enough, even if it's time consuming.
