Delerker predicts that the heavy clouds will continue building, possibly causing heavy storms in a few weeks.

This will likely coincide with the river and waterfall fully thawing, which may also cause local flooding.

Well I guess we could grab all the ice chunks we can and toss them into the barrels creating barrels of ice water.  Those should be pretty clean for drinking later on if we have to.  That would probably help a bit, but I think we're probably going to need some kind of wall or something if were going to hold the water off.

Alright then, just go up the hundreds of kilometres of river and pick out all the conveniently sized chunks of ice, as well as all the ones on the glaciers that look like they'll melt in the next few months, and all the snow on the tundra. That should do it.
