If people would actually check out how the system is for their Store instead of bitching about things that they fail to understand then really, don't let that door hit ya...

48 hours of play time is very little for a grindfest game like H&H.

Kinda makes out to be around 30mins a day, but if your liturally playing EVERYDAY, well then. Pay for something you enjoy...
Unless of course you want ADS everywhere. Before they were getting by with the Donations and shit, but that lead to people abusing their game and causing the loss of many players who Donated and such. It was due tbh so yeah. I ain't fussed...

Now thats just stupid. Lose all the normal items you want, but you might as well put some sort of magic on the expensive hat.

But not all devs will make sense, i guess.

Well virtually everything with this relaunch (and salem) points to the fact that the devs just aren't that good at making the right decisions.

HnH already has a history of implementing rather dubious decisions and many game elements are just WEIRD (curios, combat, item quality and more).

If they would have just stuck with their core of being a MMO survival/crafting game with permadeath they would have been just fine and would have gathered a good following.

I'm with you with the combat and the many strange decisions, but the curio system and item quality mechanic is the things they got right imo.

Could you share some screenshots? I'm very curious... Also thinking about playing after all, maybe in a few days when I get some projects going and I know how much spare time I'll have

I mean, it`s more of a donation option.  It`s a cosmetic hat that you get if you support the devs.

If you actually enjoy the game enough to play more than 48 hours in your first month, it`s 10$.  I`ve personally spent more than 10$ on single player games that I played a few hours of and quit.  Heck shadowrun hong kong I beat in 26 hours and that was 20$.

Sure when I get home from work I`ll post some images of my houseéect

Welp, I figured I'd give it a shot. met up with a few random (naked) people and set up a nice kiln and start of a camp. of course nobody can claim yet so a random asshat just wanders in and releases my moths and nicks my clay chariots.

Then later I died to ants, was mauled by a bear and survived. so I figured ants couldn't be that bad. but they outright murdered me when I was on the floor.

So... I cant exactly go back to the people I met up with since you know. and while I fully appreciate developers deserving money for their efforts and server costs. the new bombshell subscription model makes me hesitate to even keep trying the game.

but you know... 300 people actually paying a subscription against 2000 free-loaders is still a win for the devs. if they can turn the development into an actual job rather than a hobby it should be good for the game and the server hardware in the longrun.

TLDR; I'm a bit disappointed with my (brief) game experience, and the subscription model is turning me off from the game, I do think monetising the game is the best move the devs could have made and wish them all the best.

I was going to play this but then i realized i needed to install java and saw the payment scheme and said nope.

Its not hard to package the java libraries in the game without forcing people to install that crap, come on devs.

Actually, any Java application is run on a Java Virtual Machine. You need to have that installed in your system before you can use any Java program, there are no "java libraries" to pack anywhere.

It's the price to pay for portability, but since Java is so incredibly extended, it's not a big deal anyway.

Well, starsector comes with its own jre folder, but I don't know if that actually helps it run if you didn't have java before (and you'll probably replace it with newer java anyway for heavy modding memory reqs)
