I was a bit shocked to see them update the game, to be honest.

I would be interested in settling down somewhere nearby, if that's allright. I never went full Combat, usually hermitting somewhere and getting by via trade. If I'm lucky I may even be able to claim a Cave again.  ;D So I'd be willing to trade Curios, Food, Animals and the like with anyone nearby, but would refrain from getting involved in any combat beyond defense.

How exactly would we work this out? Someone makes a Toon and then whe share Hearthsecrets to spawn in?

PS: If anyone's up for it, I'd be happy to work trough the first couple days together. The initial phase until you get a Palisade up is usually really time consuming, and having one or two people help with setting up camps for each other speeds things up considerably.

Nope. Now all we have is random spawns, and teleportation as we knew it is gone.

So wait, there is no teleportation anymore? Not to my hearthfire or to my village?

Phew, that's gonna be rough.

Hearth port is still there, but village port is gone. According to the devs, ye olde system of teleportation will be replaced by teleportation along formal roads, which I assume are the milestone system that already exists in the current version of the game. Hopefully, paving these roads will also be relevant. Also, chances are high that it'll be possible to waylay people teleporting along a road, so even though teleportation will still be possible it'll never be as safe as it is now. Anyway, I think one of the main points here is to impose a heavy cost on security through obscurity which has been the optimum strategy thus far and has made H&H into a massively singleplayer game. And yeah, this does mean that finding each other will be a bitch until a proper global road network is established, which will likely take months.

I guess we should decide which direction are we going! :P

My plans for the first days are quite humble... A small base, finding curios and developing some skills... then I'll move to find a better spot, preferably with metals under it.

I'd say we each look for a nice spot for a fledgling town.  (clay nearby, not too far from a mountain/swamp, river system not a horrible walk away, !cave! -big one so we can get metals., preferably walking overland distance to a field/ect where mouflon and aurochsen spawn)

Provided they keep in the suvival hard caps things you dig/mine ect system then we can't really look for high quality stuff right off the bat, will probably want to make extra bases to capture those.

but yeah, I intend on spawning in and looking for a decent first town area, I suggest though we all try and get together within a week or so since having help right off the bat makes everything go a whole lot faster.

My brother and I used to play Haven and Hearth, we were mostly peaceful so we aren't experienced at all with the combat.  We'd like to apply for a position in the village if possible.  What will we need to do to be ready for launch?

Thank you!

I'm not new to Bay12, I just don't post often.  At what point is one not an 'escaped lunatic'?

Well you just ticked off of it, it's to due with how many posts you've made.  Apologies but the answer from me personally would still be no.  If someone else wants to chance taking you in that's their own business.
