Well I never threw away seeds last time I played, I just kept increasing the size of the fields. This lead to my place being spotted very easily and then raped by griefers. T_T Why do people do that, what was the gain for them other then the idea that you just ruined the game for someone else?

Usually they assume you are feeding an army of someone with that large of a farm, so they think they are cutting off an enemies food supply.  It is sad and unfortuneate, but it is what tends to happen.  I hope to avoid that by having us all be neighbors so people who do have practice in combat can fight off any griefers with ease  (like me, not to toot my own horn but last world my small town I was playing with got raided pretty heavily and me and one other dude tracked the scents down, broke into their town and wiped the griefers from the face of the earth.  Was probably the most intense 10vs2 battle I've ever been in.)

Though I'd recommend at least trying to increase quality a little bit, having under q 10 is pretty pointless, and after a little while you'll swim in seeds regardless of quality level.

((That and even low q seeds can be used to feed cows/pigs/ect so you don't have to throw anything away technically.))

Hum so cooking in there too or no?

Just asking cause I previously tended to have 3 chars, 1 hunter/archer, 1 miner/smith, and 1 cook/farmer.  Never bothered with animals but did a lot of the farming and cooking.

I wanted to know so I can kinda plan in my head if others like you for example are gonna have say, brewing more than covered and then some.

For me it follows like this...

Farming > Animals > Brewing > Farm Manufacture > Animal Manufacture

Manufacture is generally anything that comes out as a byproduct of my ealier jobs, Farm would be like Linen and such while Animal would be cooking and leather, But these can easily be passed onto someone that would be focusing these as I generally would be doing it if there is no one actually doing so. I love the idea of having a whole Basement filled with Booze though, thats why I generally focus on that more then cheese for example...
If someone wanted to focus on Cooking and such then I happily step away unless its for the lower quality stuff, sometimes having a highskill and a lowskill chef helps...

Ehmk, well It'll work itself out once actually in practice I suppose.  I'll probably try to walk as many chars to us as possible just to have the extra hands for basic labour.

I don't have a whole lot experience in HnH, but the last village was pretty fun. I generally was just an extra set of hands who stayed up overnight to finish building random shit for the village, like a hut or something. I was training up to be a military slinger thing taught by kilakan, till the village fell apart.

I had a nice little village going with PyroDesu, Ashton, and a few other B12 friends back when H&H first came out. It lasted a good while until some dickbag lone hunter with ridiculous combat skills and gear just showed up and killed the one guy who had a spare key, broke in and murdered us all as we logged in en-masse to defend our settlement. It was VERY !!FUN!!

I'll probably roll a more hunter/scout role this time. Maybe get another char late game to be more combat focused.

Usually works out. I tend to have 2-4 characters. A fighter, a hunter, a farmer, and a craftsman. Oh, and a Gatekeeper. Only guy with the keys... I learned that trick the hard way.

I'm worried about the raiders/griefers... Wouldn't us be an easy target with a big village/neighborhood?

I guess they always find you no matter what, but... xD

Well, we have two-three people intending on doing combat, so with a larger group we can at least fight back easier.  That and the more seperate walled in areas we have, the harder it is for them to actually bust us all down.  That and if someone does get raided/griefed we can help set them back up quite quickly together.

That and as someone who has been a part of raiding parties before... ((don't kill me :P )) you tend to avoid attacking large settlements because you can safely assume someone in there is going to be a fighter as well, small individual houses are far more preferable picking since at the most you've attacked a group of 2-3 people.

Usually works out. I tend to have 2-4 characters. A fighter, a hunter, a farmer, and a craftsman. Oh, and a Gatekeeper. Only guy with the keys... I learned that trick the hard way.
Yes, main town area with hall a separate gate keeper account, than each of you should probably have your own gatekeeper alt account/character.

If everyone is making a town I'd love to jump in and help out. I played a bit solo way back when. Building my own little farm before life got in the way :)

I have to say I only really enjoyed haven and hearth during the first world, when things were simple and it didn't become an endless grindfest.
