The worldmap is nice, but I prefer a way of seeing which areas I've scouted myself. The world map is quite hilariously outdated in most areas, as well. I've found the abandoned remains of massive villages that don't even exist on it. :P

Also, that's exactly how I keep coming back to this game every year or so. Start reading about it, start posting in the thread again... and just like that, it has it hooks in you again.

I once shot a bear in the eye with a bow on the first shot, cut it up, found another one, and shot it in the eye too. The collective pile of meat weighed more than my house.

btw, did anyone notice the new trailer is EXACTLY the same gameplay shown in the trailer they made 6 years ago? Both videos are on their channel, and I think that's amazing... Try running both videos at the same time.

You will make mistakes, you will settle in a bad area, and you will die.  Start now.  Learn from your failure.  Become stronger.

Die by players??? i mean its very hard to start and play alone this game? i think the game was kinda sparse and without a lot of players around, this is my worrying i mean, i gonna to play alone, and the super slow real time skill learning and the permadeath, maybe its not a good idea

It's fun, the skill gain offline is not very slow as it picks up speed the longer you play.  There is a soft cap, so you can always catch up to other people somewhat.  Also for living alone
-Don't live near a mountain, swamp, river or lake
-Don't live near a large village.

Follow those two things and you can go a very long time without even seeing anyone, and when you do... being nice is usually a good idea, at least until you can run away ha.

yeah, looking for a nice spot to settle while being "near" resources and "far" from other people is kinda hard. But that's what most of us do. Start playing now and learn. In a week you will know a lot more about this game and you will be better prepared for the new version.

I'm not sure if I'll play it... still trying to decide xD

I'd suggest a bay-12 not village but communal living area, town style... cause the previous attempts to heavily shared resources didn't end that well... but with the mentioned changes to the way spawning works it seems that would be incredibly hard to do.

We will find a way to gather together, as a ex hh player with few worlds of experience im definitly looking forward for haven 2, we should probably start gathering ppl right now so we can organize something at the start, anyway i would be interested in creating town with plots like 10x10 so ppl can have some individual space but still work together for security, trade etc. Would be nice to have some gov, election, sheriff, town guard etc. Could create some extra fun, forming some groups maybe even gangs, sounds like fun

How intricate it gets for governing would depend on how many people interested.  As for town plots, 10x10 is a bit small, maybe a little larger so farmers/blacksmiths/tree growers/silkers ect can have some of their industry on their land.

For organizing, we would want to determine who's going to do what early on so we don't end up with multiples of things... and then maybe... tax?  Trade?  How'd we set up the transfer of what one person makes to another easily?

I'll come back for this again if we do it. Honestly, the more complex a system is, the more likely it is to fail. We can all live together, and simply work out exchanges in our relevant professions, while trying to keep the safety and success of the town as our priority. If you need something from someone else, just ask, and if it's for the general good of everyone(IE, setting up a mine) they should give it to you. If you're just trying to improve yourself, work out a exchange. I'd suggest a public house for new people until they can set up their own plot, with free stuff that everyone contributes to.

Yeah, and I'd probably only enforce set plot sizes within the initial town limits just so it doesn't end up ugly.  Outside the town's main walls you can be as big or small as ye want.... so for those of yuo who want to hermit you are welcome to hermit with us :P  Basically a buncha homesteads around a central town.

Also yeah in hide sight i agree werty, no point getting complex just go with a 'decent person' rule aka no draining all the stuff that people put out as free/ect/be nice.

I'll probably only 'require' people to do things that benefit everyone aka bricks for a wall when we get to that point/refueling steel crucibles for the gate/getting logs for initial town palisade/ect.ect.

I'd also want a copy of your plot key if you take a measured inside plot and want to wall it off so if you decide to quit I don't need to ask you to give me one at that point/you die and lose it somehow so we have a spare/(for some reason there's criminal activity but I highly doubt that would ever happen.)

Otherwise if you want to live/hermit outside the town walls I'd not ask anything other than don't like... build over a clay deposit and then demand people trade with you for the clay/wall off a mountain/ect.  Just general be a decent person type things.
