I'm interested in checking this game out. Is there a settlement of B12ers in the new world yet?

First thief... Someone stole all my food from my little camp. Sigh.

Yeah, though I have been itching and scratching to venture another play, I really don't have the time to log in enough that my progress and gain would outweigh the inevitable loss, what with everyone stumbling around after a new worldgen...

H&H needs claim-bound booby traps. :P

Are any groups set up yet?  Also, can I spawn at a Hearthfire after I got into the world?

Use your discovery LP (what you get whenever you obtain a new item), to get some initial skills, notably foraging, then pump your exploration. Eventually food will start showing up spawning randomly in the world, and once you start seeing that regularly, just rabbits and foragbles can keep you going indefinitely and you can spend spare LP on actual skills you're interested in. Most of the guides on the wiki are quite outdated.

EDIT: Ya know, if you're interested in having some company I could join up with ya. Looks like a B12 village is slow coming.

I guess we just farm LP until a formal group is formed and migrate there

While I would be slow-going, I do like exploration, and am generally the sort who likes to contribute for the good of the proletariat and such- if you folks (or even just one of you) manage to get a secure a settlement going, with a place where I could store some curios and room for me to prop up a little cabin on my own, I'd be willing to start logging in for a couple hours here and there, and pay a little rent. :)

Marcher Lords are back after a 1.5 world break.  I'd love to ally with any BN/DF factions that also return.

Someone just tried to destroy my boat while I was alt-tabbed and in the middle of a river... Seriously, what's wrong with some people in this game? -_-

Edit: OMG, another one tried again the same thing... I really prefer the old world

I appear to have caught random death syndrome or something. I keep receiving 3 damage for no reason, randomly.

Perhaps a thorn in the foot? http://havenandhearth.wikia.com/wiki/A_Thorn_in_the_Foot

Leeches are actually pretty useful. Bloated leeches are great fishing bait and, other than gauze, they're the only way to heal HHP.

EDIT: You don't make string; certain items are classes of string. Spindly taproot and stinging nettles are the easiest string class items to find.
