So I havent played world 6 at all, decided to give myself a little preptime and jump into a hermit early start, see if I can figure out the Curios.
from what im guessing... your first move should be to move your slider 1 tick to peacefull (more LP from peacefull and it will tick change aswell)
After that... Im guessing you should start 'discovering' asmany basic items as you can? or should you wait for another tick towards peacefull?
I've found that raiding anthills is a good skill to develop if you want to get your hands on curios (ant soldiers, queens and Empresses).
Im at 7 exploration now and see more dandilions that I know what to do with, so thats nice... having access to a swamp is also nice for the dragonflies.
I dont really bother with the conecows... but if the change to finding good soil also means I wont be able to find above q5 foragables without some survival I'll reconsider. and will have to divert more LP towards survival rather than just exploration.
edit: after reading the *changelog it seems that getting atleast 10 survival is going to be pretty important early on, Im guessing I might even have to get Survival to a decent level before investing into exploration =x
edit 2: also since this is my first exposure to the Curio system I gotta say im actually pretty impressed. I'm guessing its a decent counter to the bot griding I recall.
Cone cows give the highest lp/hour of most items in the game, highest for a q10 absolutely. You gotta keep in mind you have 10 int too, thats a dragon fly, dandelion, cone cow, and something else.
Also Jorb has confirmed that it's either 'Hard cap by survival OR q10' So you can't go below 10 for forgeables or mining.
As for early curios, find a hardwood forest with a swamp. No seriously, birch bark boats are freaking awesome early on, you'll want to get boat making anyways asap to explore your respective areas and or move, hardwood forests offer a lot more discouveries, kuska's for water drinking and then bloted boletes for curios later on. Right at the start you can also do well with a grassland and chance pulling auroch hair if you have nothing to lose, later on you'll want blueberries form there anyhow. A secondary thing to go for is a localized mountain, and also a cave you can claim as your own. Early caves make good vaults since you can block with hf's easy as pie, that or block your house anyhow.
I'd really, really like to see some sort of bay12 grouping, though brodgar if it's done the same as last time could be a bad idea for any sort of main character for us... If we don't mind being near some big dudes I can move my hf out into the woods near the dudes I' m gonna play with and you all can spawn to your hearts content off of that spot. Keep in mind though, if we all spawn off that one hf you need to agree to work together somewhat, because you are trapped on that land mass till one of you gets boat making. However all being in the same general area also allows us to trade by simply walking to one another, and if you want to be near where I'm going to be, then you'll know that the big bad axe wielding mob of 40 is likiely to know you and not rape you bloody a week into the game.
