Clay is currently a high-value resource. We currently need a kiln, an oven, and before long we'll want an ore smelter as well.

I might be interested in getting in on this... if so, I can roll from an ancestor with 120* exploration, and about the same in ranged, as well as a few other skills...

No. NO..!

I've managed to walk my old character down to the village area.  So I can now start doing higher level mining/smithing and such.  THough I currently have zero access to the claim, so when the owner of the character macguyver, logs in you should be kinned to a person named Karhhan.  Can you add them to the claim?

edit*Apparently you already did.  If you see someone wandering around in merch robes and a bear cape don't freak out too much it's probably me.  Since I don't wanna fuck up where we want the gates and such I'm just gonna haul a ton of blocks over for building and put em in a signpost for storage.  Don't build the signpost please

wow. this game is rather unforgiving to freshly spawned players. couldn't find any food anywhere.
( me losing shoes and getting slowly killed by thorns in the foot doesn't help either)

I guess it is time to try again.

I've never seen the group PK before, but Gelom is a pretty cool guy.  He is just trying to see if we're genuinely nice, he already has amazing fortress to the south so he really doesn't need our resources

Freshly spawned myself, got a good way in, bunch of curios so I should be able to get boat building plus change by tomorrow. Spawning in light forest does help, I assume you were in a fir forest and these don't really have much food. Try to look for grassland or light forest, apple and mulberry trees are free food, and if you find some chicken or a rabbit, you're set.

Also clogs are as cheap as two wood blocks. Also also try harvesting from everything you encounter, it's LP and you receive recipes.

Seems most of you forgot, but an abandoned village across the river has an unfinished construction with about 70 bricks we can scavange, enough for an Oven.  I'll log in now and get to work bringing them over to us.

how long does a construction site last? does it ever decay? it seems I can't walk 10 meters without finding some kind of settlement, so I am trying to understand what are the signs of active ones.

Signs never decay, making them infinity times more durable than a brick wall.

On the other hand, signs are liable to be pushed over. :P

also, a small question. if somebody else starts a plan for something I don't have the skill for ( for example, a boat). I can add materials to that, but can I finish it too?

Yes, and it counts as your item.  Which means if someone starts making a hearth fire, you can finish it and it'll be your hearth.
