Survival, exploration, murderous wildlife, crazy/murderous/OP Russians and making villages with friends.

And yes, if you liked Harvest Moon and DF, think of it like a good child of those two.

Get foraging and pump exploration. Look for berries.

Also get hunting, this way you can catch rabbits and cook and eat them.

I keep doing that, each time I start I enjoy it for a few days then realise I'm in an upgrade loop. I feel this game should be great yet something is missing.

I'm sorry to say it but I've pretty much quit playing this until I can get a better computer and/or internet connection, and chances are that won't be happening until sometime next year. I'm sorry for the drama I caused a while back, I really didn't mean to cause any problems. Have fun.

Mining not happening?  Jesse that's odd first thing we did was mine.  Frankly I find that point is overridden in a large village so instead of upgrade loop you get into expansion instead.
