Hm, yeah. Looks like I forgot to set it. I'll try warping to you regardless.

W3 made me feel completely empty inside, the world was so large with only ~300 active a day. You could wander for miles without seeing a single sign of life.

It made me sad, especially looking at camps/villages in awful states of disrepair/abandoned.

Alright, while I haven't played this game for more than 2 days, I think I got the hang of this game. Anyone wanna start a village with me, maybe one that can raid other villages in the area?

Raiding is a terrible idea.

Shh, it will make for great stories.

If you want to start a village, I would recommend splitting tasks before hand. You'll want at least a farmer/cook, carpenter, and hunter. Everyone should take exploring.

Getting your village established and running smooth is the most fun you will have in the game.

I made a character there. I'm not sure how often I'll be able to play, but I'll be around ^^.

Wait is there actually a new Bay12 town that is living?  Cause I can move my high-skill char there if there is.

If there is, then I'll drop my idea and someone can give me their HS for it.

you know what we actually need to do?  Instead of trying to build an actual village, we should all just join a 'village' that consists of a protected totem pole so we can actually just use it as a chat system.  That's really all I use towns for is interaction, otherwise I prefer living by myself.

You mean you guys haven't been doing that? Wow. Every town I've been in just has a village commons, which covers the metal industry and the trade stands, and the rest of the 'village' is fortified, independent villas nearby.

Hmm, no one has an HS for a village? Hmm.

Well, I guess I'll just start one, but before I do, where should I put it? Right now, my character is at his starting spawn with a town to the SE.

Also, if it isn't too much hassle, I can probrably be a smith/farmer.

Find something close to a large clay node preferably of atleast q 25+  An amazing bonus is if you can nab an unclaimed cave.

I have been playing off and on for a couple weeks on my hermit plantation. Still haven't gotten my Palisade fully up, but my area seems quite peaceful and largely abandoned. I am open to a Bay 12 town in the future, although for the time being, I'm just going to do my hermit thing and try to learn the game inside and out by having to do everything on my own. If anyone from the town in W4 with Mithra/Shady/Ilya, or anyone who has shown a real commitment to this thread over time, wants to join me, they're welcome, although like I said it's just a developing plantation with meh resources (I have a cave with iron), a peaceful neighborhood, and my meh character.

The game keeps drawing me back. Still no clue if I can stick with it long term. I think the big issue with this game is you need to find a couple people who are "hardcore" in the sense that they don't quit - even if they only play for an hour a day, they keep playing for the entirety of the world. If we can develop a core of those people here at Bay 12, including someone who is active enough and mature enough to be a leader, then we can recruit the part-timers and newbies around that core. The other thing is we need to either use this thread or an offsite message board, or IRC, to really communicate with one another. These are my opinions based on a brief stint in a W4 town and thinking about it quite a bit.

I think the new LP system is awesome.

(the idea of having independent homes linked only by a "communication" totem is another idea)

I think the downside to the new LP system is when i get on, I don't feel motivated to do much. Also starting off, you don't know many kinds of curios to make, and therefore are limited in how much LP you can get in a day- which is a common browser game sort of thing which I hate and HnH didn't used to have.
