Swimming isn't as bad as it used to be. It would spell instant death if you had anything less than 100 con or something like that. If you offed someone, make sure your HF is inside.

Get some exploration and so some foraging. Join a village. If you decide not to join a villiage, put your house far from the water near an area with apple trees. Start ticking your personal beliefs over towards peaceful. Get your UA up to 10 or 15 so you can raid ant hills (no need to kill the ants, just let them swing at you).

Join a village is probably the most important thing. The hermit life is much much more difficult than village life.

Anyways, how do you guys get LP? i'm at around 12,000 and counting, but that was from a lucky find of Itsy Bitsy's Web.

And how does one find the taproot for ropes? I'd like to tame some animals, and i'd need a rope for that. How much range does the taming abilty have, also?

Two tiles I think.. But it has some pre-requisites, like no combat intensity, two points of initiative and a major combat advantage. - I don't recommend taming animals until you got leather armor and studied the wiki thouroughly on the matter.

You need foraging and exploration/perception to find tap-roots.

Find someone in boat. Destroy boat. No scents, easy to do, and many people go AFK while fishing. Basically, it's the perfect way to assinate someone.
