I just posted like 6 hours ago.  Failing any catastrophic disaster while I was asleep, my village should still be there...

I am sure you are aware, but it is super dangerous to post your HS like that. Much better to have people pm you for it... unless your HF is outside the walls.

cool how do i join you? :)

Make a new character, talk to the guy at the top of the screen and enter the Hearth Secert Girlinhat gave last page. Finding the town on the map is nearly impossible.

Guess I'll give this another shot, solo for now since I don't know if I'm in it for the long haul or not.

What're some good Curios for starting characters? I played before this weird system, and I've only found Emerald Dragon flies to observe in my adventure to find a spot to live.

Cone cows give really great lp/time ratios and are easy to make. Other than that I don't really remember... Lots of stuff found through exploration help.

Cone cows are very, very nice if you have full change. The same goes for soldier ants, however not getting your ass handed to you is the hard part.

Oh yeah... ants. I have heard it doesn't matter if their fighters are alive or not, but I always had better luck when they were dead.

Anyways, you can raid the ant hill while their fighters are still alive, you just have to kite them a screen away.

Yeah, the trick is you either need to kill the guards or make sure your defense won't break down before you finish raiding. Taking SHP damage cancels actions.

If you can raid many hills quickly and you have a boat you will be a god after a few days of feeding yourself the ants for LP, with full change that is.

Empresses are godlike with full change.

ALSO: To any noobs/dedicated peoples, I am handing out free stuff since I probably won't play ever again. PM me for HS.

Like Fikes said, ants are easily kited. They move slower than your walk speed, so you can easily lead them far enough for you to run back to the hill and raid it before they can catch up. Also, their AI breaks if they hit water while chasing you, so if you got a boat you can raid hills close to shore very easily, just run to boat and wait for them to hit the shore, after that you can safely disembark and finish raiding without them attacking you.

Also, the main thing for getting curios early on is perception and exploration. Pump exploration till 50 before you raise any other skills (OK, maybe get 10-20 marksmanship if you get a sling before that - just don't get more than 2x your sling quality), and before you buy any skills you can't use immediately (such as Metalworking). Pump perception and intelligence till 50 before you bother with the other stats, it's a pretty low number so it won't be hard to rebalance your stats once you get a proper farm going.

Anyone still play H&H? A few B12ers thinking of starting up a colony somewhere. I've got a nice spot near an anthill and swamp, with all sorts of nice trees(fir, elm, hazelnut, apple, birch, willow, and others.) and no settlements within the immediate areas.

PM for Hearth Secret!

Riverend died out some time ago. I think there's a few small Bay 12 settlements out there, but most folk stopped playing after a few months. Personally, I chalk it up to the fact that playing peacefully gets boring real quickly.

Speaking of which: when (if) world 6 comes around, would anyone be interested in forming a Bay 12 bandit camp?

Yes, yes I would.

Myself and 2 friends are currently setting up a small encampment by a river that trisects, hoping to swim across or build a boat and settle on an island in the middle of the river eventually. I've got a cart I found filled with 3 crates. One crate full of food for the journey, one of tools we made, and one of supplies, also was lugging around a big log. My friends logged out so I made a lean-to on the edge of the river and am currently trying to find a damn fir tree to make a bed. Don't get why the bed only accepts fir boughs, but oh well. Going to spend the next few hours building, because its saturday morning and I have nothing better to do. Woo!

If you're interesting in helping us with our eventual settlement, give me a shout via PM and I'll give ya my Hearth Secret.

hum world 6 raiding settlement.  That's definitely got my interest.  I've basically gotten to the point where all my stats are such that I only log in occasionally TO kill people.... which no longer gives lp so even that's boring now.

I'm quite content with Ragnar's stead. All types of crops, all types of domesticated animals and a small source of metal (low grade copper). Life is good. Also kinda chore-ish.

Heh. We've set up a camp on a trisected river, but I want to move to better lands. Soil quality 26, fresh water, and plenty of tree-life. We've got cots for 6 people, a boat, a cart, a ton of crates, a farm going, a lot of dreams, plenty of food, tools, etc.

We're located at 49,-33 on the world map: http://algeralith.info/HavenMap/

We're on that peninsula. We have plans to head East to find a high quality land where we can set up.

We've got plenty of basic supplies and available foods, a cart, tons of crates, and a boat. If anyone would like to join us, we're currently at 5 people. Myself (and my 4 alts), Edio of B12, Edio's RL friend, Ivefan of B12, and a friendly guy we met in-game that's joined our colony and has been a great help so far.

Anyone else who'd like a friendly crew to play with, send me a PM for our location, info, and hearth secret! :D
