Well, he was in the suggestions forum awhile ago tossing around the mechanics of built-anywhere mines where you do shafts and such, and brace everything and do mine carts and all. Hopefully it is that.

To whoever is going to find our location -

Turns out, we don't need to be quite as picky.
Word is that these mine shafts are almost a certainty.

And, with this soft cap on the soil.. Farms/Good soil are the next mines.. For new players, as you will be able to slowly upgrade the QL of your soil artificially.

So, I wouldn't worry about finding soil, or mines.

I spawned in a conifer forest next to a river and a cave - no idea if its a good location.
