Update:
ok, so the cave i found has Q37 soil very close to it. and Q52 or so Clay fairly close.
There is also 2 pink grasslands to the north by boat, and a very close swamp and mountain
The caves in a dark forest[fir] and theres a light forest a short walk to the west.
There is a river ending immediately east of the cave, and a river passing by a bit to the south [where the clay is]
...anyone interested it making a World 5 home here?

I'm likely going to set up a camp here regardless.

Woah, and I thought this LP system can't get any worse. J&L wanted to make communism and stumbled onto communism's problems - you can do nothing and get the same things that those who work constantly get :)
I wonder, how long will it take for admins to change it to something more sane?...

It's half-true, as in, only in terms of LP.

For instance, you won't get iron just becasue you studied 100 lady bugs...

I like the new system.

I'm...  quite disliking this new system.  Everything just seems so much...  slower.

If you think you can get same LP from studing cone cows and primitive dolls with 10int as you can from studying leather balls and spiders with 20int, you have zero understanding of how this system works.

Int only raises attention, does not hastens the studying.

More attention -> more curiosities studied at once -> more LP in same time. And you can't even study the really good ones (such as strange root, acquired by pulling stumps) with starting int.

I am totally there Rift, though I have a character witha decent amount of LP already so I may as well just walk, do you mind if I bring a non-bay12er with me, who is a very good freind, we've played all of world 4 and a bit of world 3 together and he is very trustworthy?  If it would make you guys feel better he does know of dwarf fortress and I can direct him to the forums?

It's still a grindfest. This game is the opposite of entertaining. They'd have to scrap the entire system and start again. First thing I'd do is throw away the quality mechanic, or at least get rid of the numeric skills. Make it much easier to get a useful, competitive character.

Make it so that what you are maximizing isn't your squishy character, but the settlement you and your friends build.

ok so people who hate this game and can only bitch about it without actually playing themselves, please leave this thread and stay away.  i don't mind people who actually play  dicussing how hard it is to get lp, or how some resource expensive item really should give more lp, but people harking about how it's not fun and they would never play it, leave.   It's not a anti-hnh thread, if you want that go make one.
edit* And it's not a grindfest at all, since you can study while offline, for instance i log in once every 3 hours or so for about 5 minutes to change my curiosities, and I get around 2000lp each time.  It's signifigantly less grindy, it just rewards you for not playing for hours on end like it used to.

Personally i'ma  more the merrier-type of guy, I don't want to pretend to be in a leadership roll or anything, as far as i'm concerned anyone who wants to come is more then welcome.

The camp isn't exactly "impressive" atm, and could use as much help as it can get.

Also.. kilakan can you change the OP's title to "world 5"?

I played for like nine months in worlds 1-3 and then a bit more later on. I never got much metal and my highest stats where in the 20s. I much preferred the pre-quality gameplay, when you could reasonably expect to be able to make something and then sell it.
