I assume when we're talking about communal farms, we mean ones for increasing quality? I agree those are best to privatize, but 'junk crops' (or at least ones that are useful en masse and regardless of quality) can certainly benefit from any plebe having access to it. I'm mainly thinking hemp/flax (banners) and grapes (lots of traveling swill), here.

But I ran a village that had nearly half of its surface area dedicated to hemp (long story!), so maybe I'm biased.

Farms should be built outside the city. Once they reach larger than 3x3, their presence can cause some serious screen lag :/. I can't even walk through those screen-wide fields you sometimes come across without hitting 3fps.

Depending on my college schedule, I would be very much interested in playing. I've got an account but I haven't touched it for a good while.

Can somebody alert me when the world has been reset, and we can get in? My account is busted and I can't acces the forum >_>.

At this rate, I won't be able to play... going on to 10pm, now, and I need a relatively early night.

Well, it's basically jorb saying what I just said, so you don't actually need to see it.

Meant to say I'll be sure to post here (if nobody else has) as soon as I'm aware of it.

Palisades. What a joke.

Anybody with 36 strength and a ram can beat down a palisade now.

Brick walls are the new palisades. It's really quite sad, they're basically just making it harder for newbies to play.

And, yeah, I'm going to turn in with a film now, so i'll be nodding off before midnight.

Fucking sucks I'm going to miss out on the celebrations... Although, if Jorb and thingy stick to their usually delayabilities, I might be able to catch it in the morning.

I vastly prefer a palisade being beaten down by someone with a ram than having a guy punch through my brick wall to examine my cellar boulders.

This is a thing that actually happened in World 1.

Walls have a long and storied history of swinging back and forth between impenetrable, paper thin, and "whoa that guy has dozens of layers of brick screw this". Dunno how all the changes affect the situation now, though (when I had to quit, security amounted to removing all viable ram-hiding places and a daily patrol). It seems good at the core, and one wall piece being destroyed damaging or destroying several seems like a good thing for demolition purposes (especially now that decay no longer exists).

My two cents on the planning - In my experience, "communal" farm plots are less of a "whole village" activity, and more of a "two guys with high farming" activity, and it tends to burn those players out quickly. Man, I love them scare quotes.

Farming sure but high QL furnaces, forges and the like could easily be communal as well as a large storage building for tools and resources.

Should be within just two hours now.

Guess I'll be asleep :/

Yup, my client just proclaimed to me that "The end is nigh!"

By the way, the opportunity to start a village with a gruoup of people at the same experience level soundds appealing. I'd like in on this.
