Whatever weird food I've been offered, I sell even weirder food. I buy Prepared Fruitfly Brains from them and turn it into Prepared Fruitfly Brain CAKE after adding in Prepared Leopard Spleen, Prepared Elephant Fat and Prepared Rhesus Macaque Intestines. Or perhaps I'll sell them Prepared Deer Heart SUSHI with Prepared Buzzard Eye, Prepared Polar Bear Lung and Prepared Elk Liver.

Prepared deer meat, doesn't sound very weird?
Well, the animal trainer was using it to tame an animal, a DEER!

Maybe they have hundreds of thousands firefly brains, cooked into a patty.

And that's when you realize how cheap the barrels actually are. Because goddamn, that's a lot of fireflies.

You'd better balance that ball on your nose or you're going to get what Rudolph got.

And boy, is this gonna get even weirder once we get all the new animals on the sponsorship drive list...

on the other hand, we can finally cook proper escargot and, it seems, foie gras. Or am I mistaken? :P

Just sell them back to the caravans, if you wind up with any. Barrels of blood/ichor don't have a use, except to clog up the inventory screen during caravan purchases.

Too bad.  I really only wanted the barrels.  Pity there's no vampire civ to cart them off to.
If your biome freezes at any time, I think you can leave the barrels outside and then dump the blood once it freezes.  Even if it thaws once the dwarf grabs it, you still got it out of the barrel.

While testing out my mod I'm working on, I ended up with a "strawberry daiquiri pie."  It sounded delicious until I looked at it and discovered that the other three ingredients were horse tallow.

What do you even do with all the barrels of blood?  They creep me out so I haven't been buying any.

Maybe they will be usable in cooking in the future, if they aren't already? Animal blood is used in preparation of some meals. Such as black pudding: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_pudding

They're just something nice to keep around. Just like one would get a stockpile of useless coins or begin making their crafts from lead.

My Dragonfly Brain biscuits are made of finely chopped dragonfly brains.

How exactly do you finely chop a dragonfly brain?  Doesn't it just end up as a smear on your knife?

Presumably, dragonfly brains have to be formed into blocks or something (think cheese or tofu), and you're mincing and cooking that.

Still doesn't explain how you mince syrup.

So that's what black pudding is... I was wondering why eating one in Nethack(which try to kill and eat you as well) fails the vegetarian challenge when other slime-type enemies don't.
Also, OHGODIMGONNATHROWUP.
